MONTHLY FAVORITES,

November 2014 Beauty Favorites

novfaves

Another month has passed so that means it’s time for my monthly beauty favorites post :). I was kinda sad that November ended. Here in Florida November means that the rainy and hurricane season is over so no more humidity and the start of a gorgeous sunny weather. Also my favorite American holiday, Thanksgiving is in November so a lot of good things happening :).

The Sephora VIB sale was in the month of November so of course that means a lot of shopping. My favorite purchase from the sale goes to the YSL Fusion Ink foundation. This has been my go to foundation since I got it. I actually switch between my Chanel Velvet and the Fusion Ink foundation cause they’re very similar. You can find my review for both foundations here.

For eye makeup I’ve been really loving the Laura Mercier Eye Caviar Stick in Amethyst, I just can’t get over how good these eyeshadows are. I can wear this eyeshadow by itself cause when you blend it out the color changes a little bit so it looks like you’ve used two colors on your eyes, it’s just perfect. Also it makes a great base for my UD Naked Basics 2 palette cause it lasts all day with no creasing. I made a post about the Laura Mercier set that you can find here if you’re interested to see swatches.

A newer addition to my eyeshadow stash is the UD Naked Basics 2 palette. I chose this one over the first cause it’s a cooler toned palette and I don’t have a lot of cool toned eyeshadows. The colors are pretty basic but great for every day use especially for the office cause I don’t like to wear strong makeup at work.

My go to setting powder has been the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Color. I don’t know how Chanel did it but this powder manages to keep me matte but at the same time glowy. The powder doesn’t add much coverage which I like and the packaging is sturdy and safe to carry in your bag.

For concealer I’ve been using the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye corrector every day since I got it. I use it in combination with a highlighting concealer, I just dab the corrector in my inner corner and a little bit under the eye cause that’s the place I have darkness and it works wonders. It is on the pricier side but you get so much product and you only need one swipe to cover your dark circles so this will last me forever.

My go to blush for the month of November has been the Benefit Rockateur blush. I just find that I can use this blush with every look, it goes with every lip color cause of the shade and how subtle and natural it is.

By looking at the lip products shades you can guess that I’ve been in to the dark mauve nude trend that’s going on right now. First there’s the Nars Audacious lipstick in Anna, the perfect pinky mauve every day shade. The formula of these Nars lipsticks is phenomenal, they’re highly pigmented, creamy and long lasting.

I also like the Nars Velvet Matte lip pencils, specifically the shade Bahama. I did a blog post on these lip pencils that you can read here.

And lastly the Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipstick in Lolita. This is a very popular shade as it’s always sold out but I got lucky and snagged one at my local Sephora, it was actually the last one :). It’s a dusty mauve nude color that applies like a liquid lipstick and dries to a matte finish. Like the name applies this lasts all day. These are very matte so sometimes they can be a little drying so I make sure my lips are in good condition when I want to wear this lipstick.

Now let’s get ready for some Christmas shopping, NYE celebration and the end of another year :).
