BEAUTY,

Recent Luxury Beauty Purchases

There were some new luxury beauty releases that picked my interested so I picked up couple of them. I’m always keen on trying a new base. Specially if it’s a foundation with a glowy finish, I don’t mind spending a little more if it’s a good one. I picked up Chanel’s latests base release, the Les Beiges Gel Touch Healthy Glow Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I also got one of the Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in Memory. Lastly I also got one of the new Dior Rouge Dior Liquid Lip Stains in the shade 614 Jungle Matte.

The Chanel Les Beiges Gel Touch Healthy Glow Tint is a cushion compact that features a lightweight aqua gel texture base that gives the skin a subtle tint with a dewy finish.

The line has eight available shades and they run a little lighter compared to Chanel’s other foundations. I am usually 20 in Chanel foundations but I went with the shade 30 for the cushion.

The formula is enriched with kalanchoe extract and hyaluronic acid, which helps to provide up to eight hours of hydration, along with optimal protection and soothing comfort.

Now, I do love how this looks on my skin. The coverage is sheer. Something like a tinted moisturizer with a beautiful glow to the skin that doesn’t feel greasy. But for the price and the amount of product that you are getting, I don’t think it’s worth it. I feel that for $60 and 0.38oz of product it is just too expensive for what it is.

If you are looking for a similar product but with more coverage I would go with the Chanel CC Cream which is $55 but you are getting SPF 50 and 1oz of product.

Chanel Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in 820 Memory came out with their Fall 2017 Collection. It is a beautiful warm bronze shade with a satin finish.

What I like about this formula is that it is less shimmery than the Illusion D’Ombre Long-Wear Luminous Eyeshadows. The formula is creamy and packs a good pigment and most importantly, as soon as it sets, it doesn’t budge on me all day.

I like to use Memory on it’s own, for a quick one eyeshadow look or as a base for a brown smoky eye. Both ways, the eyeshadow performs beautifully. I’m quite impressed with the formula so I’m definitely picking up more shades.

I don’t like to end this post on a negative note but the Dior Rouge Dior Liquid Lip Stain in Jungle Matte did not work for me.

I’m not sure if it’s the shade, Jungle Matte is a warm toned brown, but the liquid lipstick accentuated lip lines that I didn’t know I had. The weird thing is, the formula is not drying at all. It actually felt very comfortable on the lips and it sets really well without transferring. But the shade made my lips look horrible which is unfortunate.

Otherwise the packaging of the Dior Rouge Dior Liquid Lip Stains is super pretty. Even the length and the shape of the applicator are perfect. They make precise application very easy and the formula doesn’t dry so quickly that you can’t fix any mistakes.

I might try a different shade just to see if it’s a shade issue because I see a lot of positive reviews online.

What was the last luxury beauty product that you tried?
