BEAUTY,

My Christmas #MOTD

No matter what I do for Christmas, stay at home or attend a party I always go for a sparkly makeup look accompanied with a red lip. I think a red lip is a staple when it comes to Holiday makeup, it just glamorizes the whole makeup look.

This year I decided to go with a luminous primer and a long wearing foundation, go light on the eyes and pick a long wearing red lipstick.

I’m going to spend Christmas at home with my family but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to look and feel glamorous so I’m going to wear a simple black tight below the knees dress and focus more on the makeup.

Base: I settled for the Laura Mercer Radiance Primer because I want some luminosity but also need some hydration since the foundation that I’m going to use is pretty matte. I picked the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation* because it makes my skin look perfect, not only it is long lasting but it looks natural on the face and blurs all imperfections. It is super matte so a hydrating primer is a must.

Cheeks: I decided not to wear a blush and instead use the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow both as a blush and as a contour/bronzer. It’s my most used product and I always reach for it even for special occasions because I know that it just works for my skin tone. I skipped on the blush but I’m going all the way with the highlighter. Becca Champagne Pop will give me that pop of highlighter that’s intense enough for a Christmas party.

Eyes: It’s all about the sparkly eyeshadow and a classic cat eye flick. I recently got the Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Space Cowboy* and it is perfect for creating a Holiday look. It’s a champagne shade with silver sparkle that has a 3D metallic effect once applied on the eyes. I will probably use a tacky base to make sure there’s no fallout and just dab this on my eyelids. For crease definition I will use the bronzer as it is the perfect crease color. To make the look more complex I will do a thin cat eye flick with the Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er Precision Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner*. And to finish the look you can add a nice pair of false lashes, I’m going to go with the Urban Decay Fast Easy Sexy Partial False Lashes in Instalush*.

Lips: I always go with a long lasting lipsticks because I want my lipstick to last with all the drinking and eating. The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiery is a deep classic red shade that will last you through a meal and couple of drinks. These liquid lipsticks wear really well and are not as drying on the lips like other liquid lipsticks.

Now tell me what are your picks for your Christmas makeup look? Do you plan your makeup look like me?
