Marc Jacobs released his summer collection and it is coconut themed. I love the scent of coconut and when I saw the LE white packaging, I was sold. In addition to his Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer which is one of my all time favorite, he released a bronzer, liquid highlighter, a setting mist and a white version of his Bronzer Brush.
I’m not going to go in to details about the Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer since I’ve mentioned it so many times. All you have to know is that it’s a great hydrating primer if you have normal to dry skin.
The second product from the collection that I’m totally in love is the Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter. It’s a gel cream highlighter that’s formulated with five forms of coconut and provitamin B5 that help hydrate and nourish the skin. The shade is a beautiful gold with a touch of peach. It is super pigmented so a little goes a long way. As with every liquid highlighter, you can either use it on it’s own or mix it with your foundation for an all over glow.
Since the shade is golden I would say that this is suited more for light/medium and up. If you are fair I think the shade would be too gold for your skin.
The consistency and finish of the Dew Drops remind me of my well loved Cover FX Custom Enhancement Drops, meaning it has the same metallic finish if it’s heavily swatched. But you can still achieve a natural looking glow when the product is sheered out and applied with a damp sponge.
Another hit from the Marc Jacobs Coconut Collection is the O! Mega Bronze Coconut Perfect Tan in Tan Tastic. First, the shade is perfect. It’s a matte bronzer that is not too warm but also not too cool. It has a neutral undertone that helps achieving a natural looking warmth to the skin. Besides the gorgeous white packaging, the bronzer also smells amazing of coconut milk and you get 25g of product (which compared to your regular sized bronzer is 8g).
I would say that the shade would be good if you have fair skin, you just have to make sure you use a light hand and it will work for people with light and medium skin tone.
Now on the product that It’s a little bit tricky to use. The Re(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist is a hydrating mist that gives a beautiful dewy look to the skin. What’s tricky about this face mist is the nozzle. If you don’t press the nozzle all the way you will get a mist that is not fine and can actually ruin your makeup.
To get a fine mist you have to press the nozzle all the way and you will get a nice even mist that feels super refreshing on the skin. The formula of the mist is cream like and very hydrating so I think the setting spray will work for people with normal to dry skin.
The Re(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist actually gives the same effect on the skin as the Tatcha Luminous Face Mist. It’s a dewy finish that I like since my skin is normal to dry.
Swatches L to R: Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter (heavy swatched), O!Mega Bronze Coconut Perfect Tan in Tan Tastic, Dew Drops (blended out and sheered out)
Bottom line, I love everything about the Marc Jacobs Coconut Collection. From the packaging, to the coconut scent, to the actual products, everything is amazing.
Did you pick up anything from this collection? If you are a fan of coconut and are looking for your summer bronzer and/or highlighter these are a great option.
