Hourglass Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette is a limited edition three pan highlighter palette that was released for the holidays. It features a new, never before seen formula that provides the brightest highlight on the skin. Formulated with concentrated multifaceted pearl particles, it’s made to give the most reflective glow but without any noticeable shimmer or glitter.
The palette features three shades:
Absolute Strobe Light – a light soft pearl pink with a metallic finish
Pure Strobe Light – a pale gold with a metallic finish
Lucent Strobe Light – rose gold with a metallic finish
The new formula is very intense but still wearable. It gives a beautiful glow to the skin that can be customized (as subtle or as beaming as you like) and it will never emphasize any pores or imperfection on the skin. They give an almost wet look to the skin which I prefer when it comes to a highlighter.
Compared to the Ambient Strobe Lighting Powders, the Metallic Strobe Lighting Powders are glowier and more intense. The texture, as with every Hourglass powder, is soft but not powdery. They don’t kick a lot of powder when you dip your brush in the pan but they also pack good pigment so you don’t need to swirl the brush.
For application you can use a fan brush to achieve a more soft and subtle look or a denser brush for full on beaming effect.
All three shades in the Hourglass Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette work on my medium skin. The shades are on the lighter side so I think they would work up to tan skin tones. I’m hoping Hourglass will make these in singles and expand the shade range because the formula is amazing.

Bottom line, I looovee the Hourglass Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette. From the new formula, to the shade selection, everything is perfect in my opinion. If you are getting just one thing from all the holiday releases out there, I would get this palette. Specially if you like highlighters, you will love this palette.
