BEAUTY,

Ciaté London x Olivia Palermo The Smouldering Eye Palette

For the holidays Ciaté London released a new limited edition palette in collaboration with Olivia Palermo. I already reviewed the Smokey Suedes Eye Palette that they also did with Olivia Palermo and I love that one. The palette was a huge surprise regarding quality and pigmentation, it’s actually one of the best I’ve tested.

The second collaboration is the Olivia Palermo x Ciaté London The Smouldering Eye Palette* which is the darker and more cooler toned sister to the Smokey Suedes Eye Palette. The packaging is the same as the previous palette, has the same black and gold luxe packaging which looks and feels amazing.

When my palette arrived it was shattered during shipping which made me sad but that didn’t stop me from using it.

The shades in this palette are perfect for the holidays and for people who love a good smoky eye that’s not your regular black.

The eye palette contains the following shades:

Camo (deep olive pearl), Double Denim (blue shimmer pearl), Butler (bone matte), Amaretto (aubergine/brown matte), Blondie (gray/purple matte), London (deep gray matte), Pisces (light gray pearl), Mulberry (cranberry pearl), Penny Jar (purple gray shimmer pearl).

The quality of the eyeshadows is the same as the Smokey Suedes Eye Palette, they’re very smooth and buttery to the touch, have great pigmentation and blend out really nicely.

The palette contains four matte shades and five shimmers which is a pretty good ratio. I think you get the right matte shades, the beige which is a great matte highlight, a medium brown, perfect for the crease and two darker shades for darkening the corners.

Swatches of the Olivia Palermo x Ciaté London The Smouldering Eye Palette L to R: Camo (deep olive pearl), London (deep gray matte), Pisces (light gray pearl), Double Denim (blue shimmer pearl), Amaretto (aubergine/brown matte), Mulberry (cranberry pearl), Butler (bone matte), Penny Jar (purple gray shimmer pearl), Blondie (gray/purple matte)

I would say that this is a good palette for someone who is looking for a palette to create some party or going out looks. You can create some day time natural looks but most of the eyeshadows are darker so I think they’re more appropriate for night time, I guess it just depends what looks you prefer.

I like that there’s a mix of cool tones and warm tones. The shimmers have really fine shimmer so it’s not over the top but still adds some sparkle.

After testing both palettes I would recommend The Smouldering Eye Palette to someone who likes wearing smokey eyes and likes the mix of cool and warm tones and the Smokey Suedes Eye Palette to someone who loves warm toned eyeshadows and a good mix of neutrals and pops of color.
