Becca Ocean Jewels Collection Review & Swatches

The Becca Ocean Jewels Collection is a new limited edition collection from the brand. Inspired by the abalone shells and the jewels of the ocean, the collection features three products: Ocean Jewels Eyeshadow Palette, Ocean Jewels Highlighter Palette and Liptuitive Glow Lip Gloss

All three products that come in the Becca Ocean Jewels Collection are meant to create glowy and beachy bronzed looks. With all the summer collections coming out so early, I am ready for warmer weather.

First up, the Ocean Jewels Eyeshadow Palette. It’s an eyeshadow palette that features seven brand new shades in creamy matte, metallic and twinkling topper finish.

The shades that come in the palette are:

Seashell (matte, neutral ivory beige)

Abalone (metallic, soft duo-chrome purple)

Ocean Jasper (shimmer, duo-chrome brown that flashes red, blue, and green)

Tourmaline (matte, neutral, deep brown shade for crease and liner)

Sandstone (warm, metallic copper)

Spirit Quartz (metallic, moody silver with subtle, purple undertones)

Mermaid Pearl (iridescent, holographic shimmer)

The formula of the eyeshadows is exceptional. The two matte shades are creamy and blend very easy on the eyes. The shimmery shades are easy to layer and achieve full on pigment. You can also intensify the metallic finish by using them wet and you will get a beautiful, almost foiled look.

I also love the shade selection in the Ocean Jewels Eyeshadow Palette. It is a neutral palette but the pop of purple and the duo-chrome blue brown shade gives the palette a special feel. Also bronze and coppery shades are my favorite for summer and I think they go so well with the whole bronze summery look.

Swatches L to R: Seashell, Abalone, Ocean Jasper, Tourmaline, Sandstone, Spirit Quartz, Mermaid Pearl

The Becca Ocean Jewels Highlighter Palette comes with five Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighters. They are all new and never before seen shades. The shades are inspired from the jewels of the sea so they are not your usual golden shades that you see everywhere.

The shades that come in the palette are:

Coral Crystal (shimmering, pink-peach infused with white gold pearl)

Citrine (shimmering pale yellow infused with gold pearl)

Aquamarine (delicate, cool blue infused with violet pearl)

Pink Pyrite (effervescent pink infused with shimmering gold pearl)

Sunstone (shimmering, sandy beige infused with gold pearl)

When it comes to the formula of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors Pressed, there is no miss for me. The formula is creamy, very pigmented and gives a beaming glow on the skin. The colors that come in the palette I think are more refined than your usual duo-chrome highlighter shades which makes them very wearable.

Also a neat thing about the formula, is that you can definitely used them both on the cheeks and the eyes. I’ve also seen photos of girls mixing the gloss from the collection with the highlighter shades for a custom metallic lip.

The Becca Liptuitive Glow Gloss is a lip gloss that reacts with the chemistry of your lips and creates a custom pink shade. It has micro-fine blue pearls that sparkle in direct sunlight. The formula is infused with avocado oil, Vitamin E and Shea Butter which all help with hydration.

The gloss has a subtle coconut scent and a non sticky formula. On my lips, at first it goes on clear and changes in to a subtle pink shade. You can’t really notice the blue shimmer unless you are in direct sunlight which I actually like.

Bottom line, I really like everything from the collection. I think the eyeshadow palette is different enough to stand out from your usual neutrals palettes. The highlighter palette is of great quality and a good option if you are looking for shade variety that includes shades that are not your usual champagne shade. As for the gloss, I adore it. It’s an easy shade to just slap on and go without using a mirror. I love the subtle coconut scent and how hydrating the formula feels on the lips. Highly recommend!
