When I heard that YSL is launching a lip product in oil form I was very intrigued. I’ve never heard of a lip oil up until now so I wasn’t sure how that would work for the lips. I love using face oils in my night time routine and I’ve seen how by using oils you can get tremendous results.
The YSL Volupte Tint In Oil is a deep conditioning lip oil that also tints the lips. Sephora carries eight shades that go from a pinky nude to an orange.
I picked up two shades, Peach Me Love 6 (pinky peach shade) and Pink About Me 8 (soft pink).
The oil applies almost clear and changes color after couple of seconds. It applies like a lip gloss and doesn’t feel slippery or greasy on the lips, I would say it feels more like a hydrating non sticky lip gloss. The smell is quite strong, they have the same mango smell as their lip glosses but it doesn’t smell artificial and I actually like the smell.
I know that some people complained about the staying power but for me it lasts as the average non sticky lip gloss. This is not a long wearing formula so the most wear you’ll get is around two to three hours and then you have to touch up.
The reason that I like these is the tint, it just lasts all day.I will apply the tint in oil in the morning before work and by the end of the day my lips would still have a tint.

As you can see they show up pretty well on me but my lips are pretty pigmented to begin with. The shine doesn’t transfer on a photo that well, in real life my lips look very shiny and glossy.
I can see myself reaching for these a lot in summer and think they would go great with a tan. They’re one of those easy products that you don’t need a mirror to apply and great for on the go.
