I’m all about that glow, about that glow! I can’t get that song out of my head, it’s so addictive! Anyhow let’s talk about some bases. My foundation preference has changed through the years. When I was not that in to makeup and I didn’t know much about it I was going with a full coverage foundation cause I wasn’t aware that you can cover your imperfections with concealer.
As you get older you realize that a lighter base actually looks more natural and add a little bit of glow on top of that, you get a really nice natural youthful look.
For summer I do prefer a lighter base cause of the hot weather, I just hate the feeling of heavy foundation on a hot day.
Two bases that I’ve been loving have the coverage of a tinted moisturizer. I’ve been using the Chanel Les Beiges All In One Healthy Glow Fluid and the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue a lot.
Both provide similar light coverage and the finish is also pretty similar. The main difference is the texture, the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue has this gel like texture that’s very unique to me and the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Fluid has more of a cream texture.
Another difference is the SPF, the Chanel fluid has SPF 15 and the bareMineral SPF 30 so if you prefer a higher SPF you should go with the second option.
The other difference is the price, the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue is $16 less than the Chanel Les Beiges.
The finish of both is very natural and glowy. They leave your skin hydrated and healthy looking. I also like to mix these with a foundation when I want to add a little bit of coverage or make my foundation glowier. They’re just all around great product if you’re looking for light coverage, hydration and dewy skin.
In my opinion you don’t need both. I guess it all depends what’s your budget cause you’re not gonna go wrong with either of them.
What type of foundation do you prefer in summer?
