As a beauty blogger I get to test a lot of makeup and skincare. I enjoy discovering new makeup bits and I’m eager to try anything. I’ve tried a lot of powders but somehow I go back to just two. I have a lot of foundations that I like but with setting powders I’m quite picky.
I like a powder that will set my makeup but not add more coverage to my face. I also like a powder that’s not too mattifying because I still want some glow to my face. Since I have combo skin I always have to set my t-zone otherwise I look shiny after around two hours. I used to live in a very hot and humid climate that required a lot of powder but since I moved to the mountains I’ve been using less.
The two powders that I always go back to and are my holy grail can’t live without powders are the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Color SPF15 and the Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder.
Both give a similar effect to the face, set my makeup but also leave a glow to my face.
Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Color SPF15 provides a sheer luminous finish when used over foundation. You can also use it over bare face and it will even out your skin tone but it will not provide much coverage. The powder is available in seven shades and they have some deeper ones that can be used as a bronzer. For reference I use the shade N30 and it’s perfect for my medium skin tone.
Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder is a skin perfecting micro powder that blurs away fine lines and imperfections and leaves an illuminating finish. It contains rose wax and almond oil which help with skin hydration. I love this powder! From the rose gold luxurious looking packaging to the powder itself, it’s just perfection. Not sure how Charlotte did it but the powder really makes your face look airbrushed. For reference I use the shade in 2 Medium. The powder looks very light in the pan but it works for my medium skin tone since it doesn’t add much color.
Both compacts have mirrors so they’re perfect to carry in your bag if you need to touch up through the day plus they both have gorgeous packaging.
What is your go to setting powder? Have you tried the Chanel Les Beiges or the Charlotte Tilbury powder?
