I love a good mud mask! I can say that I’ve tested a lot of mud masks, some affordable some on the pricy side, some worked and some didn’t. Since I have combo skin and the occasional breakouts I love using a mud mask at least once a month to purify my skin and clean out my pores.
I haven’t tried a lot of Sephora brand skincare but when I heard that the Mud Mask is very similar to the GlamGlow Supermud I had to test it out and compare the two.
The Sephora Mud Mask is packaged in to a 60ml clear jar that looks like glass but it’s actually made of sturdy plastic. The packaging looks and feels luxurious and way more expensive that what the price is.
The Mud Mask contains copper and zinc which deep clean the skin and reduce the appearance of imperfections. It also has white clay that absorbs excess sebum and deep cleans pores.
The recommended use is 1 or 2 times per week: apply an even layer over the face and neck avoiding the eye area. Massage for one minute and then let it sit until it’s dried and changes color. Rinse well with warm water.
I’ve been testing the mask for almost a month now and I have to say that it works the same as the GlamGlow Supermud. After using the mask I can notice that my pores appear cleaner and tighter and my skin feels very fresh and soft.
The only complain I have about the Sephora Mud Mask is the smell. It has a pretty strong floral scent which you don’t smell by the time the mask dries but you can definitely smell it while applying it. So if you’re sensitive to smells have that in mind before you purchase.
Now for the comparison! The Sephora Mud Mask contains 2.03 oz of product and it’s priced at $19 and the GlamGlow Supermud mask has 1.2 oz of product and it’s priced at $69 so for $19 you get almost double the product.
If you’re in need of a new mud mask I would say give the Sephora Mud Mask a go. You get a great value for the price and if you don’t mind the scent this can replace a more expensive mask and save you some money.
