BEAUTY,

My Spring Makeup Must-haves

Happy first day of Spring! Since we’re celebrating the change of season it’s only appropriate to share some makeup products that I think are great to have for spring. It’s always exciting to me when a season changes since I get to adjust my makeup routine. During fall it’s all about heavier makeup and dark lips but as soon as spring comes I’m all about bright shades and lighter makeup.

Here are some of my product recommendations that will help you transition your makeup routine in to spring mode.

Lighter base – If you’re like me and prefer a lighter base for the warmer months I have two that I really like. The Jouer Illuminating Moisture Tint is a great light base if you have dry or normal skin. It has light coverage and leaves you with a nice glowy finish plus the SPF20 is great for daytime wear. The other great light coverage base is the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue. It also has light coverage and a glowy finish but an SPF30 which helps a lot during the summer months. If you have oily skin Jouer also makes a Matte Moisture Tint which has a little bit more coverage than the Illuminating Tint but still feels very light on the skin.

Peachy Pink Blush – Something about a peach blush just brightens your whole look. A good peachy pink blush gives a beautiful flush to your cheeks and makes you look healthy. I really like using cream blushes during the warmer months and the Tom Ford Pink Sand cream blush is perfect for that. It was part of last year’s summer collection but they brought it back this year too so you can get it if you missed it. The other blush is the Becca Luminous Blush in Snapdragon, a new release from Becca that combines a highlighter and a blush in one. It’s a beautiful peachy pink blush with gold shimmer that gives you the most gorgeous glowy cheeks. I’ll have a full review of the two new released shades soon!

Cream Highlighter – Cream highlighters are awesome because they look more natural on the skin and are also appropriate to wear during the daytime. My newer obsession is the MAC Cosmetics Cream Base in Hush, a beautiful soft peach shade with icy shimmer. Now I don’t notice any shimmer on the skin, it just looks like glowy goodness that gives you almost like a wet look.

Shimmery champagne & rose gold eyeshadow – Using a champagne or a rose gold on your eyes is a great way to give your eyes some life and more of a girly look. A champagne shade brightens the eyes and makes you look more awake plus it’s a very easy shade to pull of and matches every skin tone. The Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise eyeshadow in Jean is your perfect champagne shade that’s great for all over the lid or as an inner corner highlight. These are very easy to use, you can use your fingers or use a blending brush, just apply a tiny bit, blend and you’re good to go. One of my favorite rose gold eyeshadows comes from the drugstore and it’s very affordable. The L’oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush is a cult favorite and I can see why, it’s a beautiful rose gold shade that can be worn on it’s own for a beautiful wash of color. Since the pigment is packed the eyeshadow is easy to use and not messy but you still get them same effect as using a shimmery loose pigment.

Coral & Pink lipstick – It’s all about the hydrating lipsticks in spring. One of my favorite coral lipstick is the Clinique Pop lipstick in Melon Pop described as a light cream peach. it’s a super comfortable and hydrating lipstick and the shade looks beautiful with a little tan. Definitely a must have for spring and summer. Pink lipsticks are harder for me to pull off but the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Oil in Stick lipstick in #51 Rose Saharienne somehow works for me. I’ll have a full review on the two new shades that I picked up but all I can say that these lipsticks are perfect for the warmer months. They’re hydrating and you can sheer them up for a more subtle look or you can pack them up for a more intense look. Both ways look great on the lips.

Now tell me what are your spring makeup must haves? Does your makeup routine change with the change of season?
