The drugstore brands are stepping up their game when it comes to the quality of the makeup they release. The summer collections are starting to appear and I’ve noticed some very nice products that you couldn’t previously find in the drugstores. I recently picked up some newer products that caught my eye and ended up loving most of them.
First my most recent purchase, the L’oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation. This foundation has created such a buzz in the beauty world and with good reason, it’s a wonderful medium coverage glowy base that feels super lightweight on the skin. The official release of this foundation is scheduled for the end of the month but you can already find it online at Ulta and Walmart. I did a whole review on the foundation if you’re interested in more details.
I have to admit that with the the exception of a few eyeshadow palettes it’s hard for me to find powder eyeshadows that I actually like from the drugstore. I spotted the Covergirl stand with their newer eyeshadow palettes, they released three eyeshadow palettes that are all on the neutral side, so I picked up the Trunaked Nudes palette. I love neutral eyeshadows for every day use so this seemed like a great affordable option.
The palette has eight eyeshadows with a combination of matte and shimmery shades. To my surprise all the shades have great pigmentation and blend really nicely which is very hard to find in a drugstore brand.
If you’re on a budget and you’ve always wanted the Naked palette, the Covergirl Trunaked Nudes is a great affordable option. You don’t get as much shades as in the Naked palette but for the price you get some really nice eyeshadows.
The last two products that I recently picked up are both from L’oreal. I picked up their GlamBronzer that looks like it’s limited edition and part of their summer collection and one of the Colour Riche Lip Collection Exclusive pink shades in Eva’s Pink.
The L’oreal GlamBronzer comes in three shades, Light, Medium and Deep and it’s meant to be used both on the face and the body. It comes with a shimmery overspray but as soon as you swirl your brush the overspray is gone and you’re left with a nice matte bronzer that provides a natural glow.
I picked up the shade in Medium which appeared a little bit warmer than the Light shade. It suits my light to medium skin perfectly and looks very natural on the skin. The shade is warm but doesn’t appear orange on the skin, it just gives a nice bronzed glow to the face. The compact is also huge so you get a lot of product for the price.
I’m usually not a fan of pink shades on myself but there are some shades that I can actually pull off. The shade in Eva’s Pink is one of those shades since it’s a muted rosy pink that is perfect for every day use. The pink line is supposed to be with a sheer finish but I find that the shade in Eva’s Pink is actually pretty pigmented. The lipstick has the signature L’oreal lipstick smell so if you’re sensitive to scents just have that in mind.
