With every limited edition collection from MAC I say to myself that the packaging is more beautiful than the previous one but I think the MAC x Chris Chang collection tops all MAC limited edition collections when it comes to beautiful packaging. The graphics that appear on the collection are so detailed and beautiful and the colors are eye catching and just scream summer to me.
When I first saw a preview of the collection I thought that the colors are all pretty bright and not really for every day but there are some pieces from the collection that I would actually wear on daily basis and think that they make a great addition to my summer makeup. If you follow me for awhile now you’ll know that my favorite shade to wear in summer is orange. I think that shade just represents summer and it’s so flattering on freshly tanned skin, plus it’s a fun color to wear and a nice way to add some color to your whole look.
Three of the four products that I received from the collection are all different hues of orange which as you guessed it, I’m all about.
The collection has very fun shades of lipsticks, eyeshadows, cream color bases and a transparent finishing powder which is definitely a collectable piece.
From the collection I received the Cream Color Base in Rich Coral, Eyeshadow in Electric Mandarin, Lipstick in Vermillion Vee and Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Pressed Powder.
The MAC x Chris Chang Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Pressed Powder is a silky and colorless finishing powder that reduces shine and it’s packaged in this gorgeous limited edition packaging. The powder feels soft to the touch and doesn’t leave a white cast after application. I used it both to set my under eye area and to set my t zone and it worked pretty well in containing any oil through the day.
The MAC x Chris Chang lipstick in Vermillion Vee is described as a clean true red in a matte finish but on my skin it appears more of an orange red than a true red. The shade actually reminds me of my well loved Lady Danger which is my must have for summer. The lipstick applies creamy and doesn’t tug on the lips and the pigmentation is great, with one swipe you get a full on pigment. If you’re looking for a great summer red this is a good one to have plus you can’t beat the pretty packaging.
The MAC x Chris Chang eyeshadow in Electric Mandarin is described as a neon mandarin orange in a matte finish. It’s a beautiful burnt orange shade that instantly brightens your eyes. The shade is listed as matte but I think it’s more of a satin since I can see some sheen when swatched and on the eyes. It makes for a great all over the lid color or a crease color if you like to to add some warmth to your eye look.
I’m a big fan of Mac’s Cream Color Bases and the shade that comes in this collection is no exception. The MAC x Chris Chang Cream Color Base in Rich Coral is a beautiful creamy orange shade that it’s also super wearable. When applied on the skin it also pulls some coral tones which makes it perfect for the summer months if you’re in to coral and orange blushes. The formula is very creamy but doesn’t leave a sticky feeling on the skin. It’s very pigmented so you only need a tiny bit to achieve a natural flushes look to the cheeks.

All in all the MAC x Chris Chang collection gets a huge thumbs up from me. I love everything that I tested and think the shades are super fun to wear. Plus that limited edition packaging is breathtaking and oh so beautiful. If you’re looking to add some color to your summer makeup this collection is definitely worth checking out.
