MAC recently released a very summery and fun looking limited edition collection called the Vibe Tribe. The collection was inspired by the vast canvas of the desert with reckless shades of red and orange for the lips and teal, cobalt, mandarin hues for the eyes. The LE Collection has a variety of great products from eyeshadow palettes, to some pretty lipsticks and blushes.
The shades of every product are all on the vibrant side which is perfect for the summer months for that added pop of color.
I have to admit that I was pretty excited about this collection since the packaging looked so fun and colorful but I was a little disappointed by the plastic feel of it. Don’t get me wrong the packaging is not bad, it’s just I might of got spoiled from the past LE collections like the Chris Chang and Brooke Candy, the packaging of those two collections is beautiful and feels very well made.
Now on to the products that I got, I got four products from the collection to test out:
Vibe Tribe Powder Blush in Adobe Brick
Vibe Tribe MAC Studio Nail Lacquer in Skin
Vibe Tribe Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Teen Dream
Vibe Tribe Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Caravamp
The Vibe Tribe Gleamtones Powder is a bronzing and highlighting powder with a color block of four different shades. From coral to champagne to bronze and tangerine you can either use the shades individually or swirled together for a customized color. The description on the website says that this powder can be used as a bronzer but for me I think it works better as a highlighter or a shimmery blush. The shades are all very pretty individually but when you swirl the powder together you get the most beautiful shade of shimmery rose gold. The swirled shade would work beautifully as a highlighting blush for lighter skin tones and for darker skin tones this will make a great cheek highlighter.
The powder feels really soft to the touch and kicks some good pigmentation but doesn’t feel powdery at all. I think MAC does a great job with the multiple shades in a pan powders and this is no exception.

The other powder product that I tested out is the MAC Vibe Tribe Powder Blush in Adobe Brick, a burned red shade in a satin finish. This shade is very pretty for when you want to add a touch of flush to your cheeks that will look very natural if you’re light handed. With shades like these you have to be careful with application since you can easily achieve clown cheeks so less is more. Adobe Brick goes really well with different hues of red and orange lips and will look great on both light and darker skin tones.
It was my first time trying the MAC Paintpolish Lip Pencils and I’m in love! The Paintpolishes are described as a lip color that gives the sheen of a gloss with a precision of a pencil. In my opinion they are the perfect spring/summer lip product that feels very comfortable on the lips, adds a flush of color and hydrates your lips. The two shades that I got from the Vibe Tribe collection are Caravamp, a reddish orange and Teen Dream, a bright pinkish coral matte. Both shades give a nice flush of color that’s not overly pigmented with a glossy finish that makes your lips appear very juicy. They’re one of those no fuss lip products that you keep in your bag for on the go and are super easy to apply.
And last but not least the Vibe Tribe Studio Nail Lacquer in Skin, a beautiful light peachy beige shade. This is the perfect nude nail polish for my light to medium skin and makes for a great every day neutral shade. You can achieve full coverage by two coats and the lasting power is pretty good, it lasted around five days on my nails with no visible chips.
If you’re thinking what to get from the MAC Vibe Tribe collection I would definitely recommend looking in to the Gleamtones Powder since it’s such a unique powder and of great quality and also the Paintpolishes if you’re looking for a good hydrating lip product for every day use but that also adds a pop of color.
