Kiko’s latest limited edition collection Neo Noir was exclusively designed by Ross Lovegrove which also designed their past summer collection with the rose gold packaging. The packaging was inspired by black velvet’s romanticism and used depth to transmit the idea of modern, sensual extravagance. The Neo Noir collection features cream contour palettes, duo bronzers, blushes and highlighter, lip products, eye products and many more.
I received six products from the Neo Noir line to test out:
Divine Tone Moisturizing Face Serum
Strobe & Sculpt Cream Contour Palette in 01 Light to Medium
Design Flower Enriched Highlighter
Sparkling Trail Eyeshadow in 06 Rose Anthracite
Maxi Mod Mascara
Enigma Lipstick in 05 Magnetic Rust
The Kiko Neo Noir Divine Tone Moisturizing Face Serum is described as a moisturizing serum that protects the skin from every day damage and pollution. It’s a tinted serum that also provides luminosity to the skin. It appears very sheer on the skin and doesn’t provide any coverage, instead it gives you a beautiful golden glow to the skin. You can use it on it’s own or under makeup for added luminosity. The finish is really amazing, it makes your skin look very healthy and “lit in within”. The only downside is the scent, it is heavily scented so if you’re sensitive to scented products have that in mind.
The Strobe & Sculpt Cream Contour Palette in 01 Light to Medium is a palette with a cream bronzer and a highlighter that are meant for sculpting the face. I have the lighter shade of the two available shades and it’s a perfect match for my light to medium skin tone. The texture of the cream products is very creamy but they don’t feel slippery on the skin and set very well after application. Both the bronzer and highlighter are beautiful. The bronzer is the perfect in between shade (not too warm and not too cool) so you can use it for both contouring and bronzing and the highlighter is a gorgeous light golden shade.
The Design Flower Enriched Highlighter comes with two different shades in the pan. You can use the shades on their own or mix them together for a customizable shade. The formula is enriched with petal extracts and it is fine and creamy to the touch. Both shades perform really well on my skin and give a beautiful glow to the skin without any noticeable shimmer. The highlighter is scented with Japanese Rose but the scent is not overpowering and you don’t smell it after application.
The Sparkling Trail Eyeshadow in 06 Rose Anthracite is a beautiful blue gray shade with an ultra-sparky metallic finish. The formula of the cream eyeshadows is super creamy and pigmented and slides very nicely when applied on the eyes. It didn’t budge or crease on me after an 8 hour wear.
The Maxi Mod Mascara is a mascara with a small brush that provides maximum volume and definition. This was a miss for me just because of the brush. I found it too small for my upper lashes but it is perfect as a lower lash mascara because of the size of the wand. It’s super black and separates the lashes without any clumping. It didn’t smudge or run on me which is a must when it comes to mascara.
And lastly the Enigma Lipstick in 05 Magnetic Rust, a beautiful red wine shade with a glossy finish. The Enigma Lipsticks contain oils extracted from passion fruit and mix of waxes and shiny oils which provide a long lasting radiant finish. I got a full on pigment with only one swipe and the lipstick felt very comfortable on my lips and didn’t bleed. It’s a hydrating lipstick that provides full on pigment and a beautiful glossy finish.
