Jouer recently added four new shades to their Creme Eyeshadow Crayons* line so now they have total of nine available shade which are all wearable and very pretty.
All nine shades are shimmery. They have a rich pearl finish which transfers to the eyes beautifully. They have shimmer but it’s a very wearable shimmer, you can sheer them up for a day time look or pack them on for a more dramatic night time look.
The formula is creamy but also fast drying to prevent creasing and fading. Because they dry pretty fast you should work on one eye at a time. For blending I use my hands to blend them out but you can also use a synthetic blending brush.
I think they did a great job with the color selection. The colors are all very wearable but you still get some pops of color and darker shades for creating a smoky eye.
I actually prefer doing a smoky eye with cream eyeshadows. It’s the easiest way to do a smoky eye without spending a lot of time on your eye makeup and since they’re cream your blending will look perfect.
I like to wear these on their own but they also work great as an eye base for your powder eyeshadows. They will prevent your eyeshadow from creasing and they will intensify the eyeshadow that you’ll apply on top. I tested all nine shades and they all lasted very well thought the day without creasing or fading.
If I have to pick favorites I would probably go with Baroque (shimmering soft bronze), Renaissance (shimmering bronzed plum) and Avant Garde (shimmering navy charcoal).
Swatches L to R: Avant Garde, Abstract, Mosaic, Rococo, Baroque , Serene, Renaissance, Venetian, Marble
As you can see by the swatches they’re all very pigmented, I only needed to do one swipe to get that color payoff.
If you’re a fan of cream eyeshadows these are some good ones to try. I think they have some pretty unique shades and the quality is exceptional.
