Cleansers for Dry Skin

It is tough to find a cleanser for dry skin that cleanses and removes makeup but also doesn’t strip the skin. Even when my skin is combo I don’t like to use harsh cleansers that give you that tight feeling after you wash your face. Instead I prefer something more gentle but I also like a cleanser that removes most of my makeup.

I have three face cleansers to share with you that have been on constant rotation. These are tried and true and used over and over again.

First up is the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser, a creamy moisturizing cleanser that gently removes impurities and makeup without stripping the skin. It’s a hybrid between a cream and oil and it’s great for people with dry and sensitive skin. It comes out like a thin cream but upon contact with your skin, it turns in to a cream to oil consistency. I use a wash cloth to remove the cleanser but you can also use just plain old water to remove it. The light vanilla scent feels very refreshing in the morning and the cleanser leaves your skin hydrated but clean.

I highly recommend the Goat Milk line for people who have dry skin. I’ve tried everything from the line and the products are super hydrating and nourishing without being too heavy on the skin.

The Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser is a super gentle cleanser that is also good for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin. It has Omega 6 and 9 and Vitamin E which all help with replenishing the moisture in the skin. The cleanser comes with a Dual-Effect Sensitive Skin Cloth that has two different sides, one is textured and the other is a soft terry side. You can use the textured side together with the cleanser for gentle exfoliation while still cleansing your skin. It even claims to remove waterproof mascara which to be honest I haven’t tried since I don’t use waterproof mascara but it is effective in removing eye makeup and face makeup.

Most importantly the Pai Camellia & Rose Hydrating Cleanser is alcohol free and detergent free so it will not strip or dry your skin. It also contains a lot of oils that are nourishing and help with skin hydration.

The Mun Akwi Purifying Cleanser is my newest addiction. It’s an oil based face cleanser that helps with clogged pores and skin impurities while also effectively removing makeup. The pH-balanced formula is based on synergistic natural ingredients, including Castor Oil, a soothing cleanser and powerful detoxifier, nutrient-dense Argan Oil and antioxidant Camellia Seed Oil.

It feels soothing on the skin while it also leaves the skin cleansed but not stripped and dry feeling. It’s also good for removing waterproof makeup which is a plus. If you are looking to do a deep cleanse, a tip from the founder is to apply the cleanser and then put a warm washcloth over your face and wait until it cools off. That way you get a deeper cleanse and also gentle exfoliation.

What is your favorite way to cleanse your skin? Also let me know of any favorite cleansers that you think are similar to the ones I mentioned.
