BEAUTY,

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

As you know I’m a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup line so when I saw that she’s coming out with a new foundation I was pretty excited to test it out. The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation first came out in the UK probably a year ago and just launched couple of weeks ago in the US.

The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation promises flawless, poreless long lasting coverage with SPF15. The claims are that this foundation is for all skin types, skin tones and ages. She worked on the formula for 5 years to deliver a foundation that gives full coverage but still feels weightless on the skin plus it has anti aging and protective benefits of a luxury skin cream.

I immediately grabbed a bottle as soon as the foundation launched on her website so I had the chance to test it for a bit. All I can say is that it was love at first sight. First time I tried this foundation I didn’t use a primer like I usually do just to see how the foundation will work on bare skin. The texture is thicker so it’s not a runny foundation but it still blends beautifully on the skin. With two pumps I managed to cover my whole face and get light to medium coverage. The foundation doesn’t settle in to lines and pores and also doesn’t catch on any dry patches. The finish is just amazing. It has a velvet finish but you also get a beautiful glow on your skin without feeling greasy.

In her usual Charlotte Tilbury style the packaging is glass with a rose gold cap which is her signature look. The foundation comes with a pump that doesn’t dispose too much product so you can control how much you pump without wasting any product.

After application the foundation feels very light on the skin, almost like you’re not wearing anything and it sets pretty well without any setting powder so it doesn’t feel sticky or tacky to the touch.

I prefer my bases on the lighter side, I wear medium coverage for special occasions and when I’m going out at night so I really like the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. I think the coverage is a good light to medium but also buildable. I wouldn’t say that this is a thick full coverage foundation but you can probably build it up if you prefer full coverage.

The line has 12 available shade with good shade variety for every skin tone. I wear the shade in #6 Medium which is a neutral golden yellow shade for medium skin tones with neutral olive undertones. For reference I wear the same shade in her Light Wonder foundation so I’m not sure if the shades match with the two or if it’s just a coincidence.

For application I use a buffing brush and also a makeup sponge and both work really well. You get an airbrushed look with both techniques and coverage that lasts all day.

All in all I have nothing but good things to say about this foundation. I can see how it can work for every skin tone since it’s not matte but also not dewy. It’s an all around great foundation and one that I will use on daily basis.
