If I have to choose one product from Charlotte Tilbury I would go with her Filmstar Bronze & Glow. That compact has been my go to for a long time, I actually think I’ll be seeing some pan on the bronzer side soon, that’s how much I love it.
The original compact is meant for light to medium skin tones and I’m so glad that Charlotte Tilbury expanded her line and came out with a darker version for medium to deep skin tones.
The compact has the same rose gold vintage looking packaging which I love. It’s actually one of the most luxurious looking packaging of a product that I have.
As the lighter version the compact has a sculpting powder on one side and a highlighter on the other. The powder is soft and pigmented as the previous version and since it’s darker it shows up more on my medium skin tone.
The bronzer shows up warmer on my skin so for me it’s better used as a bronzer not so much as a contour powder. The highlighter side is a beautiful orange copper shade that I can actually pull of as a highlighter since I’m tanned. It would be also great as a blush topper and to add some warmth to your cheeks.
The Filmstar Bronze & Glow in the Medium to Dark shade is my perfect compact for summer. Because I’m darker in summer the lighter shade doesn’t show up that much on my face so I have to build it up, with the darker compact I can just do two swipes and I’m good to go.
And now for the comparison between the three, the cream version is the most natural looking and I recommend it for light to medium skin tones. It blends nicely on to the skin and leaves a nice beachy glow to the face. The lighter powder version is my all time favorite because the sculpting powder is not too warm but also not too cool so it can be used for contouring but also for bronzing and the highlighter is just beautiful. The lighter compact would suit light to medium skin tones.
As I previously said the Medium to Dark version is my perfect summer palette. The bronzer and highlighter are great for adding warmth and glow to the face.
Swatches of the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Medium to Dark
Swatches L to R: Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Medium to Dark, Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Light to Medium, Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Sun Tan & Sun Light
When swatched on the hand you can notice that the bronzer has some shimmer but like the lighter version when applied on the face it’s not noticeable.
My first love will always be the Filmstar Bronze & Glow Light to Medium but I’m glad I got the darker version because I can use it in summer instead of the lighter version.
Have you tried any of the Filmstar Bronze & Glow palettes? If you haven’t I highly recommend getting a shade that will suit you the most, believe me you will not regret it.
