April’s been a very busy month for me. With all the planning, packing and moving I still found time to pamper myself and wear a lot of new makeup. I skipped on March favorites so I accumulated a lot of favorites and it was really hard to narrow them down.
Skincare: I’m loving the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask. I’ve been using it since her launch two months ago and it has done wonders for my combo skin. Not only is this mask clarifying cause of the clay but it manages to tighten pores and plump the skin. I haven’t used any other mask that can do so many things for my skin, it’s just wonderful.
The other skincare item that will probably stay in my routine for a long time is the AmorePacific Rejuvenating Eye Treatment Gel. I received a sample of this eye cream from Sephora and since then I’ve been using it every morning. The texture is gel like and feels very creamy when applied. It gives enough hydration and moisture to my under eye area and sits very well under foundation. I think I found my HG eye cream!
I had one eyeshadow platte that exceeded my expectations this month and it comes from the drugstore. The Maybelline The Blushed Nudes palette has neutral but also rosy tones, very similar to the Naked 3 palette and I reached for it a lot in the month of April. You can check out swatches of this palette here.
Contouring is very in right now so I’m guilty of purchasing couple of contouring palettes. The one palette that stood out for me is the Marc Jacobs #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder in Mirage Filter. It has two perfect shades for contour and highlighting for my medium skin tone. I also like that the highlighting shade is matte cause I like to use it mainly to set and brighten my under eye area. I did a full review that you can check out here.
Clinique added new shades to their Cheek Pop line and if you tried the blushes you know how pretty they are. Melon Pop was one of my favorites from the bunch, it’s just a nice pale peach blush that’s perfect for spring and summer. Swatches of Melon Pop and the other shades that I have here.
The brow product that totally changed my brow routine also comes from the drugstore. The L’oreal Brow Stylist Plumper Brow Gel is very nice for setting your brows but it also has fibers so it’s great for those lazy days when you don’t feel like doing your brows. You can just use this product and it will make your brows appear fuller and more defined. I use the shade for blonds and it’s the perfect taupe shade.
Somehow the month of April was the month for nude lipsticks. I just noticed that my two favorite lipsticks are nude :). Charlotte Tilbury gave us a preview of her matte lipstick line and they were available for purchase in the month of April. Their official release will be in September so if you missed out you can get them when they officially launch. My favorite shade in Very Victoria is inspired by Victoria Beckham, it’s a browny nude that leans on the cooler side. This and a smoky eye makes for the perfect combo. I did a full review of the four shades that I got from this line, you can read about it here.
The other nude lipstick comes from Marc Jacobs New Nudes line. The shade in Role Play is a touch darker than Very Victoria and also has a little but of warmth to it. This is the perfect nude for my skin tone. You can check out swatches of this lipstick here.
