Pixi Beauty has a couple of new releases to help you transition in to Spring. Pixi is one of those brands that does skincare and makeup really good. They’re a little bit more expensive than your usual drugstore brand but the quality is there with every product that they release.
The first new product for Spring and the one I’m most excited about is the Hydrating Milky Mist. I’m a big fan of Pixi’s face mists, I have both the Glow and Makeup Fixing Mist and love them both so I was excited to see that they added a new one to their line. When I first saw the Hydrating Milky Mist I instantly thought of the Tatcha Luminous Mist that everyone loves. It has the same milky consistency and feels almost like a moisturizer for your face. The Hydrating Milky Mist contains Hyaluronic Acid and Black Oat which help with hydration and plumping. It’s meant to be used as a first layer of hydration before your moisturizer or serum so I use it after I cleanse my face.
It gives instant hydration and feels very refreshing on the skin. What I love about it is that it’s not extremely hydrating to the point that your face will feel greasy if you apply too much, it just gives enough hydration before I apply my moisturizer. I also like to use the mist over foundation when I feel like my makeup looks a little more on the powdery side.
The other new release is also part of their skincare line, the Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish is a multitasking lip exfoliator and nourisher which helps with repairing and protecting dry lips. It’s actually a lip oil that has shea butter and a blend of sweet almond, apricot and primrose oils. The applicator is pretty unique, it feels like a tiny massager for your lips and helps with exfoliation while you apply the oil. It feels very nourishing on the skin and doesn’t look overly oily on the lips. It’s a great lip treatment if you’re battling dry lips like me.
And lastly the Pixi Book of Beauty – Minimal Makeup. It’s an all in one face palette that has two highlighters, two cheek shades and four eyeshadows. The palette is meant for creating a “no makeup makeup look” so the shades are all very neutral and appear soft on the skin. The powders are all pretty pigmented and feel very silky to the touch. The palette leans on the lighter side so I would recommend this to people with fair to light skin tones. This is a great palette to have if you don’t wear a lot of makeup and prefer your look to be on the natural side.
If you have to pick one thing from the Spring releases get the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist. It’s a great affordable face mist that will work for all skin types and I haven’t seen a lot of similar products like this on the market, especially in the drugstore.
