The Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon Lipstick is a long-wearing matte lipstick that glides as a cream but has the lasting power of a liquid lipstick. These are lip crayons that you can use both as lip liners or lipstick. They come with a built in sharpener that you can use to keep the lipstick sharp for precise application.
There are 12 shades in the line and a good mix of neutral and wearable shades and also dark and pops of color. I think the Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon Lipstick line shade range is one of the first lipstick lines that I actually like all shades and would wear them all.
I have to admit, in the last year, I haven’t been wearing a lot of matte formulas. Even if it was matte, it usually is one of those formulas that has a blotted sheer look. Well, that totally changed when I tried the Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon Lipsticks.
Both the formula and the shade selection is what sucked me in. They glide like a cream lipstick and you get a one swipe pigment but they also dry down a little and wear all day on the lips. The formula is matte but it doesn’t settle in to any lines or catch on dry patches. It also doesn’t suck out all the moisture of the lips like a usual liquid lipstick would. It is very comfortable to wear and fades nicely through the day.

Yesterday I wore the shade in Settle For More and it lasted all day for me (around 7 hours of wear). It is almost transfer proof (it leaves a fade stain if you kiss someone) but it also stains the lips so it is very long-lasting.
As for favorite shades, it was hard for me to pick since all of them are beautiful. If I really have to pick, I would go with Lead The Way, Enjoy The View, Stay Exceptional, Accept A Dare and Laugh Louder.
Bottom line, I’ve found my favorite matte lipstick formula from the drugstore in the Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon Lipsticks. The formula is amazing and I think they did a great job with the shade selection. Highly recommend them if you are looking for a new long-lasting matte formula to try.
