The Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer is a skin smoothing, makeup extending primer that’s infused with five types of coconut. It claims to smooth out imperfection while hydrating the skin and also prolongs the wear of your makeup.
It has thin consistency with a refreshing coconut smell that’s not overly sweet and overwhelming. When applied to the face it feels very moisturizing but not greasy and it leaves me with a fresh faced look. It has a glowy finish but it’s not over the top so it doesn’t make me oily. The oily part is very important to me since I have combo skin and I tend to get oily on my t-zone.
I’ve also noticed slight blurring of my pores but nothing major like other primers that are actually advertised for that.
When it comes to the packaging Marc Jacobs can’t go wrong in my opinion. The primer is packaged in a glass bottle which makes it less travel friendly but I love it, it’s a great addition to my vanity top.
What I love about this primer is that it’s not silicon based so it doesn’t feel heavy on my face. Sometimes with silicon based primers I’ve noticed that they can clog my pores if I use them too much. But with this primer it almost feels like you’re applying moisturizer.
I usually wait at least five minutes before I apply my foundation just to let the primer sink in better on to the skin. After application my skin feels very smooth so my foundation glides on really well. I’ve tried this primer with a bunch of different foundation and it has worked with every foundation.
The Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer will work for dry to combo skin, I’m not sure how it will perform on oily or extremely oily skin since it’s pretty hydrating.
If you’re looking for a hydrating primer that feels light and helps with your makeup lasting longer you should look in to this primer. It’s on the pricy side but totally worth it in my opinion.
