MAC just released a new LE Collection in collaboration with Taraji P.Henson. When I saw that MAC is collaborating on a collection with Taraji I was very excited as I’m a big fan, I loved her performance in Person of Interest. The line is meant for darker skin tones but I think the products would look really nice on lighter skin tones too, you just have to repurpose the products.
The MAC Taraji P. Henson line has a nice selection of products from lipstick to mascara and Mineralize Skinfinish. I received the lipstick, Mineralize Skinfinish and Mineralize Skinfinish Natural to test out.
The lipstick in Strip Me Down is described as deeptone beige in a matte finish, it’s a really nice darker nude with terracotta tones. On darker skin tones this would be a great every day nude but on my light to medium skin tone it’s more of a darker browny terracotta shade which is perfect for fall.
The Mineralize Skinfinish in Highlight the Truth is described as soft bronze coral with golden shimmer. On my skin tone this shows up as more of a rose gold shade. For when I’m lighter this would make a great subtle blush but for the summer I can use it on top of the cheeks as a highlighter. For darker skin tones this would make a great highlighter.
The MSF Natural in Taraji Glow is described as a reddish brown. The MSF Naturals are meant to be used as all over face powders to set your makeup and they give a really nice natural glow to the skin without any shimmer. Since the powder is very dark for my skin tone I can use it more as a blush, for medium skin tones this would make a great warm toned bronzer and of course for deeper skin tones it’s perfect as an all over face powder. I actually really like this shade as a blush and the shade also goes really well with the lipstick from the same collection.

I’m glad that MAC decided to do a collection for darker skin tones as there are not a lot of them available. The MAC Taraji P. Henson Collection has some really nice products in my opinion and it’s worth checking out.
The collection launched today on maccosmetics.com and will be available in stores starting September 8th.
