Mac Cosmetics is launching a LE collection in collaboration with Selena which was curated with the help of Selena’s sister. The collection reflects Selena’s style and makeup looks that she constantly wore. Her sprit lives on through the passion of her fans and her impact on Latin culture and beauty.
The packaging of the MAC Selena collection is purple which was Selena’s favorite color. She wore a lot of neutral eye makeup with just a winged liner so the eyeshadows in the collection are all on the neutral side but they added a pop of color via the lipsticks.

Mac Selena Techno Cumbia Blush duo is a split pan containing a darker shade in Blunt which is a rosy brown toned bronzer with a matte finish and Ven Conmigo which is a rosy mauve neutral toned blush also in a matte finish. Both shades perform really well and show up on my light to medium skin tone. I think since both shades are on the neutral side they will suit even people with fair skin tone and show up up to medium skin tone.
Missing My Baby is a matte light pinky nude beige shade. It’s a great shade for all over the lid and as a subtle brow bone highlight.
Is It The Beat is described as a deep black with a matte finish. On me the eyeshadow shows up more of a very dark grey shade and has very good pigmentation.
And the last eye product, the MAC Selena Liquid Eyeliner in Boot Black is a black eyeliner with a matte finish. The short brush on the eyeliner was pretty hard for me to use, I managed to apply a thin line on my eyes but for a thicker liner it was harder to do a precise line. The liner is super black and dries matte which I prefer. It didn’t smudge or bleed all day and looked freshly applied at the end of the day.
The line has three lipsticks and one lipglass. Amor Prohibido is the neutral lipstick from the line, it’s described as a pinky brown with a glaze finish. The other two shades are bolder, Como La Flor is a beautiful cherry red with an amplified finish and Dreaming of You which is a deep wine in a matte finish.
Bidi Bidi Bom Bom is described as a bubblegum pink with silver pearl. It appears brighter in the tube than on the lips, on the lips it shows up as a hint of pink with a lot of sparkle and since it’s a lipglass you know that this will last you all day.

The MAC Selena Collection is launching online on October 1st and will be available in stores on October 6th. My recommendations from the collection are the Techno Cumbia Blush Duo ( if you’re a neutral bronzer/blush lover you will like this) and all three lipsticks were also a huge hit for me, especially Dreaming of You which is perfect for fall.
