Mac Hyper Real Glow Palettes are three pan highlighter palettes with a brand new formula for the brand. There are two palettes, Get It Glowin’, which is the gold toned one and Flash + Awe, the palette that comes with soft pink and peach shades. The palettes are currently available for Mac Select and Pro Members and will be available for everyone on Feb 15th.
The Hyper Real Glow Palettes feature a soft creamy formula and three different shades. Formula wise, this is the best formula I’ve tried from Mac. It is soft but not powdery and it almost feels like a cream to powder to the touch. The coverage is buildable so you can go as natural or as strong as you prefer.
I tried the palettes with two types of brushes and I got different results. If you are looking for a softer, more natural look, you can use a fan brush for application. If you prefer your highlighter on the stronger, more beaming side, you should use a denser packed brush, something like the Mac 138 Synthetic Tapered Face Brush.
Mac Get It Glowin’ Hyper Real Glow Palette comes with three shades that are different hues of gold. The shades that come in the palette are:
Gold Coasting (a medium toned warm gold)
Get It Glowin’ (light/medium gold with warm undertones)
Rosy Cheer (golden warm copper)
The first two shades are actually quite similar on the skin. Gold Coasting does have a slightly more metallic finish than Get It Glowin’ and also a more yellow tone. Both shades work great as highlighter shades on my light to medium skin. Rosy Cheer is a tiny bit darker for me to work as a highlighter shade but it makes for a great blush topper or even layered with my favorite bronzer.

Mac Flash+ Awe Hyper Real Glow Palette has a mix of peach and pink shades. The palette comes with:
Flash + Awe (pale shimmery silver pink)
Rosy Glow (light warm shimmery peach)
Light Of The Party (golden peachy pink)
The formula of the Flash + Awe Palette performs as excellent as the Get It Glowin’. Every powder included in the palette has the same soft and almost creamy feel. I like that the powders are buildable since I like my highlighter on the dewy, more natural side. Even when applied on bare skin, these look like a sheen and soft glow without any noticeable shimmer particles.

Bottom line, love the formula of the palettes. As for the shades, there really is not a shade that I don’t like in both palettes. Except of Rosy Cheer, they all work really well as highlighter shades for my skin tone. Also the packaging feels sturdy and comes with a mirror so it will be a great palette for travel. Both palettes comes with 0.45oz of product and will be priced at $39.50.
