BEAUTY,

Light Base For Every Skin Type

For day to day basis I like to wear a base that’s on the lighter side. I like the feel of a light base on my skin and I prefer the natural look for every day. When it comes to BB and CC Creams, companies usually make them very hydrating and glowy so they don’t suit every skin type. But lately I’ve seen products for oily and combo skin which makes me so happy.

Light Base For Every Skin Type

My skin is on the normal side during the colder months (I even get some dry patches) and combination during the summer. That’s the perks of your skin changing, you can test bases both for normal/dry and combination skin. So I’ve accumulated a good amount of light coverage bases. Some I use when my skin is dryer and some when I get more oil.

Normal to Dry Skin

bareMineral Complexion Rescue – This is an oldie but a goodie. It has a gel cream consistency, hydrating skincare benefits and a radiant finish plus an SPF30. With sheer to medium coverage this base is very versatile and people with dry skin will love it. I can wear this all year round. In summer I usually set it with powder because it can get a little too hydrating, especially on my t-zone.

Chanel Les Beiges All In One Healthy Glow Fluid – A sheer base that gives the most natural glow to the skin. This is a tinted moisturizer type base so it doesn’t provide a lot of coverage. I wear it on days when my skin looks almost perfect, just to add some life and glow. Unfortunately I can’t find this product anywhere so I’m guessing it was discontinued? If you like a similar base but with a tiny bit more coverage, the Chanel CC Cream is also a great option.

Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream – If you like dewy skin you should try this BB Cream. It gives a very fresh dewy glow to the skin and also provides a lot of hydration. People with dry skin will love this! It doesn’t catch to dry patches and has light coverage and SPF20. The only downside, it only comes in three shades.

Light Base For Every Skin Type

All Skin Types

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint – This is a cult favorite and for a reason. It has enough coverage to even out the skin tone but also blurs out pores and leaves you skin looking fresh. The coverage is sheer to light and the finish is not overly glowy, it has more of a natural finish so that’s why I think this would work for most skin types. Of course if you’re extremely oily you have to use a setting powder. But when you’re oily I think that’s a must for every base.

Combination to Oily Skin

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done – It provides sheer to medium coverage with a natural finish and SPF20. With this base you will get the benefits of a skin treatment and the coverage of a sheer foundation. And as a plus it has the capability to blur pores and imperfections. This is my perfect light base for summer. It makes my skin look like it’s photoshopped! It’s recommended for combination skin so you know that it will not make you look oilier than you are. Just a heads up, it can catch on dry patches so make sure you exfoliate if you have them.

Purlisse BB Tinted Moist Cream SP30 – A base with skincare benefits, age-defying and sunscreen benefits and coverage of a BB Cream or a light foundation. It has a natural finish and feels very light on the skin. They recommend this for all skin types but note that if you have normal to dry skin to use it over a moisturizer which is correct. I used it the other day over bare skin and it accentuated my dry patches. I then moisturized my skin and tried it again and it looked perfect. But if you have combination to oily skin you can definitely use this on bare skin.
