When a lip product comes in a pencil/crayon form, one they’re very easy to store and two application is way easier than with a regular lipstick. The Lancôme Color Design Matte Lip Crayons are lipsticks in a crayon form, they have a modern matte formula that is not drying and has a creamy finish.
They pack a good pigment and feel lightweight and don’t dry your lips. The line offers ten different shades that range from a pretty nude to a dark vampy red that’s perfect for the winter time.
The slim shape of the lip crayon makes application very easy. You can do precise lines and use the crayon as a lip liner and then fill out the lips. So basically you don’t need a lip liner with these because you can use them as both.
The packaging is your regular plastic packaging that comes with a cap but what makes these different from other lip crayons that I have is that you can see the shade that you’re getting because of the colored bottoms. What you see at the bottom is true to the shade that you get in the tube.
I like a good matte lipstick but because of the winter weather my lips have been on the dryer side so a creamy matte formula really helps. It’s more comfortable to wear than your true matte lipstick and less drying on the lips but the lasting power is pretty comparable. I get around 5 hours of wear with these before I need to touch up.
The shades in the Color Design Matte Lip Crayon line are:
200 Nothing To Wear (light peachy nude with brown undertones)
210 Lipstick Avenue (peachy nude)
300 Bite The Bullet (light cool toned pink)
310 Sought After (a true coral)
330 Drive to Pink (barbie pink)
320 Partner in Crime (magenta)
110 Contain Yourself (orange red)
100 Oui, Monsieur (true red)
340 Only Wine Will Tell (dark wine red)
350 Berry Haute (dark berry)
Swatches L to R: 200 Nothing To Wear, 210 Lipstick Avenue, 300 Bite The Bullet, 310 Sought After, 330 Drive to Pink, 320 Partner in Crime, 110 Contain Yourself, 100 Oui, Monsieur, 340 Only Wine Will Tell, 350 Berry Haute
I think the line has a great variety of shades. You get two nudes, some spring/summery shades and also some dark shades for the colder months so you’re basically covered with every shade. The only shade that’s missing I think it’s a good pinky nude and a mauve.
If you’re looking for an easy to use lip product that you can keep in your bag and it’s easy to apply definitely look these up. If I have to pick my favorite I would go with Nothing to Wear, Contain Yourself and Berry Haute. They’re all beautiful but I think I would use those three the most.
*Many thanks to the Lancôme team for sending me the Color Design Matte Lip Crayons to try. As always all opinion is my own.
