Kiko Cosmetics released their holiday collection called the Cosmic Starlets and it is gorgeous! As expected with a holiday collection you get a lot of red lip products, contour kits, but what immediately caught my eyes are the Moon Dust Face Powders.
The Moon Dust Face Powder is actually an illuminating baked blush. The collection has only two available shades, a pink one with golden sheen and a mauve shade with peachy undertones. The blushes are so similar to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes which I love so I picked up both shades. The blushes are made the similar way, each blush is made up from different shades and gives a luminous and radiant finish without any shimmer.
The powders are settled in a geometric shaped compact with red metallic finish. The compacts are plastic but feel heavy in the hand and very well made and every compact contains a mirror inside.
The formula of the powders feels airy, very smooth and super pigmented. They’re pigmented but don’t kick any extra powder when you swirl your brush in the compact. I find that they give the same effect to the cheeks as the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes so they’re a great more affordable alternative.
Mysterious Pink and Fairy Mauve are both beautiful shades and I think will suit most skin tones. They’re dark enough so they easily show up on my light to medium skin tone and I think they would look great on darker skin tones as a subtle blush or even a highlighter.
Swatches L to R: Moon Dust Face Powder in 01 Mysterious Pink, Moon Dust Face Powder in 02 Fairy Mauve
Fairy Mauve reminds me of Mac Warm Soul as it gives the same peachy browny mauve color to the cheeks with the same illuminating effect.
Both shades are part of the Cosmic Starlets collection so they’re limited edition. I wish they make these permanent or release something that’s similar with the permanent line with more shades. The blushes are perfection! If you’re a fan of illuminating blushes I highly recommend you check these out before they’re gone.
