Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel is a new addition to the brand’s brow products. It is a tinted gel formula infused with micro fibers that provides a tint and volume to the brows. It is my new obsession when it comes to brow gels. It makes my brows bushy and natural looking but also sets them in place.
The Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel comes in six different shades and a clear version. I like to use a lighter brow gel to lighten the look of my brows since they are very dark, almost black (I use the shade in Blonde of the Fiber Gel and Ash in the Sculpting Pencil). I find that using a lighter brow gel than your natural brows gives them a softer look, especially if you have super dark brows as me.
The shades that come in the line are:
Blonde – light to medium neutral blonde
Warm Blonde – dark and strawberry blonde
Auburn – medium to deep red tones
Soft Brunette – light to medium cool brown
Warm Brunette – warm medium brown
Dark Brunette – deep brown with warm undertones
Swatches L to R: Blonde, Warm Blonde, Auburn, Soft Brunette, Warm Brunette, Dark Brunette
The formula of the Arch Brow Fiber Gel is soft so it doesn’t give a crunchy feeling to the brows but still holds them in place. It has fibers which give a natural bushy look to the brows and gives a lot of volume. I like the look of natural unruly brows and this brow gels gives me that. The brush has short bristles on one side and longer one, on the other. You can use the shorter side to deposit more color and turn the brush over to comb the brows for a natural feathery look.
Sometimes when i don’t wear makeup, I use the Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel on it’s own. It doesn’t give me full brows as I want but it fills them enough and sets them so they still look natural but made up. I find that if I do just my brows and use a brow pencil, I look weird if I don’t have anything else on my face. So this is where brow gel comes in. It provides a hold and a tint, but it is not over the top.
When I do wear makeup, I’ve been reaching for the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil. This is not a new product but it is a newer product to me.
The Sculpting Pencil comes with a brow pencil on one side and a spooly on the other. It’s a brow pencil that has a harder formula and creates natural looking brows. You get the benefits of pencil, powder and wax in one product. It has a triangular tip shape that makes filling in your brows super easy and quick. Since the formula is not as soft, you can’t easily go overboard but even if you do, you can use the spooly and take away any extra product. The brow pencil comes in nine shades:
Platinum Blonde – lightest cool blonde/platinum
Blonde – light neutral taupe
Warm Blonde – dark and strawberry blonde
Ash – gray/dark brown with cool undertones
Auburn – medium to deep red tones
Soft Brunette – medium brown
Warm Brunette – warm medium brown
Dark Brunette – dark brown
Natural Black – darkest brown to black
Swatches L to R: Platinum Blonde, Blonde, Warm Blonde, Ash, Auburn, Soft Brunette, Warm Brunette, Dark Brunette, Natural Black
Filling in my brows is a must for me. I used to over pluck them when I was in high school so I’ve been trying to grow them out for two years now. They are getting to the fulness that I want but in some places they refuse to grow so I need a pencil to fill in the gaps.
The Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil and the Volumizing Fiber Gel have been my go-to brow products since I got them. I haven’t reached for anything else which says a lot. I just love the natural feathery brow look and both provide that. Plus the Sculpting Pencil is very easy to use and cuts my brow routine in half. I can do my brows now in less than 5 minutes.
