When it comes to face powders in my opinion Hourglass makes one of the best ones out there. From their Ambient Lighting Powders which I often use for setting to their blushes and bronzers, the powders are just beautiful. They recently launched four new Ambient Strobe Lighting Powders which are meant for highlighting the face.
They’re described as illuminating strobing powders designed to sculpt the face with light creating dimension and a natural looking highlight.
The line has four available shades in Iridescent Strobe Light, Incandescent Strobe Light, Euphoric Strobe Light and Brilliant Strobe Light.
They are formulated with a sheer base with fine micro pearl particles that give a natural looking luminescence without the heavy metallic finish. They can be used both wet and dry depending how much intensity you like in your highlight. They were designed in mind to suit every skin tone and Hourglass also released an Ambient Strobe Light Sculptor that’s sold separately that’s meant to help with impeccable application.
Two of the shades in Brilliant Strobe Light and Euphoric Strobe Light have warm undertones. Brilliant is a light golden shade and Euphoric is a beautiful highlighter with peach undertones. The other two shades are on the cooler side with pink and purple undertones.
The Ambient Strobe Light Sculptor is a sponge type applicator that you can use both wet or dry. It does pick up more product than a fan brush and makes blending very easy. It is not a must in my opinion but if you’re looking for an applicator for easy and effortless application this is a good one to get.
As with every Hourglass powder the Ambient Strobe Lighting Powders are very soft and pigmented without being powdery. All four have a beautiful finish and look very natural on the skin.
I prefer my highlighter on the warmer side since my skin has yellow undertones so if I have to pick favorites I would go with Brilliant Strobe Light and Euphoric Strobe Light. The other two shades are also really nice and I would use them in combination with a cool toned makeup.
Regarding the size they’re the same size as the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes but smaller than the bronzers and the Ambient Lighting Powders.

The Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powders were created to mimic natural looking luminosity so you won’t get that over the top highlighter on your cheeks. They’re great to use during the daytime since they look very natural but can be also worn wet for a more intense look for going out. They give a nice glow to the face without any noticeable shimmer which I love. If you like their other face powders you will love these.
