I’m a big believer in preventative skincare. I don’t think they can prolong the aging process but they help nourish the skin and prevent premature aging. An anti-aging serum is a good way to implement a product in your skincare routine that will keep your skin looking younger and fresher. I use a serum both in my morning and nighttime routine and depending on the needs I switch between couple of serums.
If you’re looking for a good anti-aging serum here are some serums that worked for my skin and I think are worth looking in to:
Kane NY Serum Savant – Made by Dr. Michael Kane who is a pioneer in using Botox for cosmetic purposes, it is a serum that promises plumping, lift, reducing the appearance of lines and radiance. It contains Hyaluronic acid, Niacin, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin B5 and Lavendula Stoechas Extract.
Hyaluronic acid helps with plumping and locking in moisture.
Niacin deeply moisturizes and speeds cell metabolism for smooth, radiant tone and texture.
Vitamin E is an antioxidant and Vitamin C helps with brightening.
Vitamin B5 provides soothing radiance.
Lavendula Stoechas Extract clinically proven to reduce wrinkles.
If you’re looking for a luxury potent serum that has anti-aging properties but also can be used by people with mature skin, the Kane NY Serum Savant is a good one to try. I don’t have a lot of fine lines but I do have them on my forehead and I’ve noticed a difference in the appearance since I started using this in combination with another serum.
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Overnight Serum – An overnight serum that claims to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and imperfections. It has:
Ferulic Acid (Plant-based Antioxidant): Enhances properties of other vitamins for healthy skin and offers sun damage protection.
Retinol: Helps smooth the appearance of wrinkles and lines while hydrating.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): Supports the skin barrier and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation.
This serum not only helps with the appearance of fine lines it also helps with skin texture and other imperfections on the skin. Since it has retinol, make sure to use a good SPF during the day because it increases the risk of sunburns. Also when it comes to serums with retinol you have to use them 4-6 weeks before you see results.
Algenist Retinol Firming & Lifting Serum – A dual-action serum formulated with patented alguronic acid and retinol to support antiaging for a firmer-looking complexion. It’s another great retinol serum that helps with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dullness, uneven skin texture and elasticity. The serum is ideal for all skin types and gentle enough to be used on daily basis. As with most retinol products you might see some redness and flaking so make sure to use a hydrating moisturizer after each use.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines Serum – It’s a weightless serum that claims to lift, firm and fill lines all in 10 days. Infused with proprietary Drops of Light Optical Blurring Technology™ and skin-loving ingredients—including peptides, caviar extract, hydrolyzed collagen and algae—the weightless wonder serum visibly erases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the look of tone, texture, firmness, suppleness, and elasticity. It doesn’t have your typical serum consistency, it feels like a very light liquidy moisturizer that after application it just sinks in right in to the skin. I think the 10 day claim is a little too much, I typically give a product at least a month to see if it does something to my skin and I think that’s the average for most skincare products but the serum does work.
Most of the serums that I mention are on the pricy side so if you’re not sure if a product will work for you I always say to get a sample before you invest in to a product. But if you ask me, skincare is the most important part of my beauty routine so I don’t mind investing in good skincare that works.
