The Chantecaille Summer 2018 Collection was inspired by the Italian coast of Positano. The vibe but also the packaging represents summer in Italy in the best way. The bronzer and both single eyeshadows have the most stunning packaging that features pictures of the Positano beaches and scenery.
The Chantecaille Summer 2018 Collection features:
First up, the star of the collection, La Sirena Bronzer/Highlighter Duo. The name was inspired by the mystical sirens said to inhabit the Amalfi coast’s Sirenusa Islands. It comes with a warm toned bronzer shade and a beautiful golden champagne highlighter. The duo gives a sun-kissed look on the skin without being over the top.
The bronzer part of the La Sirena Duo is warm but it doesn’t appear orange on my skin. It is a medium toned bronzer that has a sheer gel like formula and gives a beautiful bronzed glow on the skin. There is no noticeable shimmer when you look in the pan but the bronzer has a glowy finish when applied on the skin.
The highlighter part has the same formula as the bronzer, just with a more glowy finish. It gives a beautiful sheeny glow on the skin that doesn’t look too shimmery or fake. I also like to use the two powders swirled together when I want an extra glowy bronzer.
Both shades appear lighter on the skin than they look in the pan so I think the La Sirena Duo will suit fair, light and up to medium skin tones.

There are two single eyeshadows in the collection, called Luminescent Eye Shade. They have a unique sheer gel powder formula that is very sparkly on the eyes. They feel like pressed shimmer in the pan and deliver a lot of sparkle on the eyes with a hint of color.
Mare is a seafoam aqua shade while Sole is a beautiful golden peach. They both deliver a lot of sparkle and look beautiful in direct sunlight. Since they don’t have a lot of color, I like to use them as shadow toppers when I like to add some sparkle and glamour to my eye look. I find that they are best applied either with a flat synthetic brush or with fingers. Dabbing the product is better than blending as the shadows have a lot of sparkle so if you try to blend you will get fallout.

There are also two cream type eyeshadows in the line. The Mermaid Eye Matte is a long-lasting velvety matte eyeshadow that has smoothing properties and is good for contouring the eyes. The formula feels like a mix between a cream and a powder and can be used wet or dry.
Olivia is a taupe grey shade which I don’t find totally matte. It has more of a satin finish and looks very natural on the eyes. Sylvie is a bronze brown shade and has the same finish as Olivia. I adore this shade for every day use. It gives me a sheer wash of color on the eyes while also defining and contouring my crease.

The Chantecaille Lip Sleeks have a hydrating sheer formula with a beautiful glossy finish. They come in a slim sleek packaging with clicking mechanism. There are three new limited edition shades in the 2018 Summer Collection in:
Lychee (a beige nude)
Papaya ( a tropical vibrant orange)
Acai (deep berry purple)
The Lip Sleeks appear darker in the tube but since they have a sheer formula they are all very wearable. I think they really nailed the perfect summer formula as the Lip Sleeks are hydrating, sheer, glossy and just make your lips look juicy.

Bottom line, a beautiful summer collection from Chantecaille. The La Sirena Bronzer/Higlighter Duo is definitely the star of the collection both for the packaging and the formula but I also love the Lip Sleeks (I can’t really pick a favorite as they’re all so beautiful). If you like your shimmer and sparkle, the Luminescent Eye Shades are a good option. And finally, The Mermaid Eye Mattes are great for someone who likes their makeup on the natural side. They last all day and are very user friendly.
