Can you tell that I’m on a liquid lipstick kick? Whenever I see a new liquid lipstick launch and if it’s from a brand that I usually love, I just have to try them. Burberry came out with their own version of a liquid lipstick, a lip product called Liquid Lip Velvet. They are described as a new formula that has a statement matte cream color with a whipped texture.
The line has 14 available shades ranging from super light nude, to bright reds and vampy shades. In Burberry fashion, the packaging is stunning. It feels heavy and very well made, it’s simply a luxury in a tube.
I picked up two shades that I though will suit me, the shades in Fawn 05 and Fawn Rose 09. Both shades are pretty neutral and looked like great every day shades.
The formula of the Burberry Liquid Lip Velvets is like a matte lipstick in a liquid form. They literally feel like whipped velvet on the lips and are very comfortable to wear. These don’t dry out completely so they are not your usual non transfer liquid lipstick. They feel more like a matte lipstick on the lips but with a very smooth whipped formula. The formula is also thicker than your usual liquid lipstick and it almost feels like you’re applying cream on your lips. Very luxurious and velvety.
Both shades that I have, provide even coverage and a long lasting experience of about 5 hours without having to touch up. I think the formula is very unique as I haven’t tried anything like it, and I’ve tested a lot of liquid lipsticks.
You really need to try it to experience how velvety it feels on the lips. It feels so nourishing and soft, and especially if you have problems with dry lips, you will love them.

I really like both shade that I got. I think they suit my light to medium skin tone very well and make for great neutral every day lipsticks. I’m hoping though that Burberry will expand the line and add more wearable shades as I really like this formula.
They are creamy, pigmented and have a good lasting power without being drying on the lips. If you are not a fan of the drying feeling of liquid lipsticks you are going to like these.
I’m very glad that companies are making more comfortable to wear liquid lipsticks. We have so many options now and they keep getting better and better.
