L’oreal recently released two palettes for the US market, La Palette Nude 1 and La Palette Nude 2. I was able to find the first palette which is a warm toned palette and consists mainly shades in the brown family. The second palette is a cool toned palette and has some purple and rosy shades. I would say that #1 is equivalent of a Naked palette and #2 is similar to the Naked 3 palette.
I’m really glad that the drugstore brands are starting to release eyeshadow palettes and they continue to improve their quality. In my opinion the drugstore lacks in good choices of eyeshadows with the exception of couple of single eyeshadows that they sell.
The L’oreal La Palette Nude 1 has ten shades, three are matte and the rest are shimmery shades. You get a pretty champagne shade which is great for your brow bone highlight, a couple of variations of bronze shades, the matte shades are #3 which is a light brown with pink undertone and a great transition shade, #5 is a darker brown also great for a transition shade for darker skin tones and #5 is a dark warm brown, great for darkening your crease.
The pigmentation is pretty good for most shades, I find that some of the matte shades can be a little powdery so you have to be careful with your brush so you don’t get fallout. The shimmery shades can be used wet if you like a higher pigment and a more metallic finish. The palette also comes with a small mirror which is a nice touch and great when you travel. The packaging seems sturdy and well made, the only thing I don’t like is that the material is shiny so it shows up fingers and gets dirty very quickly.
All in all is a descent palette from the drugstore. Would I say it’s a must have? Not really. But if you’re on a budget and you want something similar to the Naked palette this is a great option.
Compared to the Maybelline Nude palette this palette is a little bit bigger and you get more product so I think the higher price comes from that. Also I find this palette to have better pigmentation than the Maybelline palette.
If you want to pick this up I recommend checking Walmart or Target cause the price is lower than most drugstores, it goes around $15 compared to the $20 in the drugstore.
