Becca recently released a new line of concealers that are part of their Aqua Luminous line. I own the Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation and I’ve been using it on days when I need extra hydration and I want my skin to look glowy and healthy. The Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer is a similar concept to the foundation, it’s a weightless water-based concealer enriched with light-reflecting pigments which blur imperfections.
The line has nine available shades in:
Porcelain (very fair with slight pink undertones)
Fair (fair with neutral undertones)
Light (light with neutral undertones)
Beige (light/medium with neutral undertones)
Medium (medium with neutral undertones)
Tan (medium/tan with neutral undertones)
Warm Honey (medium/deep with neutral undertones)
Dark Golden (deep with neutral/golden undertones)
Deep Bronze (deepest with neutral/golden undertones)
The Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer provides weightless but buildable coverage. It contains 32% water and it’s described as easy blendable, helps with blurring imperfections, covers dark circles, hides blemishes and hyper-pigmentation while creating a radiant complexion.
The formula of the concealer is light but pigmented so I would say that it provides light to medium coverage since it’s pretty buildable. It’s also very hydrating so perfect for people who have problems with a dry under eye area. Since the formula is super hydrating the concealer might tend to creasy on oilier skin so be aware of that if you have skin that’s on the oily side. The finish is very natural and radiant without looking greasy or oily. The concealer also sets so you’re not left with a tacky and sticky feeling.
For my under eye area I use the shade in Light which despite being described as with neutral undertones I would say it’s more on the warm side. Compared to the Urban Decay Naked Concealer in the shade Light/Neutral (the shade that I use for my under eye area) it definitely looks more yellow when swatched next to it. For the consistency I would compare it with the UD Naked Concealer with just a tad lighter coverage. Otherwise it has the same creaminess and blendability.
For blemishes I use the shade in Beige and it works really well for my light/medium skin tone. I also used the shade in Dark Golden to contour and it worked really well, it left me with a nice natural looking contour.
Swatches of the Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer: Porcelain, Fair, Light, Medium, Beige, Tan, Warm Honey, Dark Golden, Deep Bronze
I like to use the Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer on days when I don’t need heavy concealing and prefer a lighter makeup base. It pairs very well with a BB cream or a tinted moisturizer because it looks very natural on the skin. My skin is pretty normal but I’ve always had problems with dry under eye area so a hydrating concealer is always nice to have on days when I’m extra dry.
The Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer is available at Sephora and beccacosmetics.com and it’s priced at $30.
