Inspired by one of the season’s trend, I wanted to share my go-to products for achieving glowy skin without looking overdone. It’s all about the natural luminous glow. The skin this season has almost a glossy effect, which I’m all about.
Base
I always go for a light coverage base and use concealer where I need more coverage. If I want an all over glow, I use an illuminating primer or moisturizer. I have normal skin but I still have to use powder on certain areas. You can use a powder that is not totally mattifying and actually adds more glow to the skin but still sets your makeup and keeps it in place.
Go-to base products include the Mac Strobe Cream in Goldlite (I use this as a glowy base under my foundation) and Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter (both as a glowy base and over foundation on the high points of my face).
As for foundation, I’ve been reaching for the Chanel Les Beiges Gel Touch Healthy Glow Tint. It’s a sheer to light coverage base with a healthy glowy finish.
The powder of choice is usually Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder. It’s a good powder if you need to set your makeup but it’s sheer so it doesn’t add more coverage. The finish is glowy but it doesn’t have any shimmer.
Highlighter & Bronzer
When it comes to bronzer, if I want a glowy look, I always reach for a shimmery bronzer. The trick is to use a bronzer that doesn’t have noticeable shimmer on the skin but still gives a glowy look.
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer is a good option for achieving bronzed glowy skin that also looks natural. It comes in four shades so there is a shade for every skin tone.
As for highlighters, I’m always looking for a highlighter that will give me luminosity and look “natural” but still glowy. Cream and liquid highlighters are good for achieving an almost glossy look on the skin. Two favorite include the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand and Hourglass Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick (love both Champagne Flash and Gold Flash).
Good higlighters that come in powder form but still give a more natural sheen on the skin are the Nars Cheek Palette (comes in two shades and it is a Nordstrom exclusive) and Dior Diorskin Air Luminizer Powder (I have the shade in #4 Bronzed Glow and love it).
