Leap into a magical land that’s a bit nutty, a little naughty, bursting with whimsy. MAC’s latest LE collection Nutcracker Sweet is inspired by the Land of the Dolls and oversized treats and rosy-cheeked nutcrackers. The collection is super fun and colorful with plenty of color and sparkle.
The MAC Nutcracker Sweet collection features five shades of lipsticks, shimmery eyeshadow singles, two beautiful pigments, eye kohls and magic dust powders. MAC also released eye and lip sets, face powder compacts, eye compacts and brush kits which I’ll talk about in an upcoming post.

Nutcracker Sweet Copper Face Compact
The two lipsticks from the line come in two different finishes, Kingdom of Sweets is described as a soft milky pink in a cremesheen finish and Leap of Delight is a deep plum purple in a matte finish. I’m not really in to pale pink lipsticks but since Kingdom of Sweets has a cremesheen finish (that means it’s on the sheer side with a glossy finish) it makes it more wearable than if it was a matte finish. On the other hand I love the shade in Leap of Delight. This is a shade that I would wear a lot during the colder months, it’s perfect if you like dark vampy shades.
MAC debuted a new long-wearing shimmering pearl powder eyeshadow formula that has an unique silky texture and it’s creamy to the touch. The shade in Pretty Dainty is a beautiful pink coral shade with a shimmer finish. The shimmer is very fine and very wearable even for the daytime, it’s what I call sophisticated shimmer. This is one of those shades that you can use on your eyes but also use as a blush shade. It will be very pretty for the summer.
I already have the eye kohl in Prunella and it’s one of my favorite dark eye kohls for my brown eyes. Prunella is a dark purple shade and great to be used for creating a grungy smoky eye or applied just in the waterline. It’s a nice change from your regular black eyeliner and also makes brown eyes pop.
The Sweet Nutcracker Pigment in Rose is also part of Mac’s permanent line. It’s a beautiful rose with copper sparkle. It almost feels like a duo-chrome when applied on the eyes since it has that copper shift on different lighting. You really can’t go wrong with MAC pigments, you get so much product for the price that will last you forever.
MAC has two Magic Dust Powders in this line and I got the shade in Sweet Vision which is a pinky peach with gold pearl. On MAC’s website these powders are described as a translucent ultra-fine light catching pearlescent powder that you can use on your face, neck and décolletage. I guess you can use the shade that I got on the décolletage if you have darker skin tone but for my skin tone (light to medium) this is a beautiful glowy blush. The powder is very fine and soft to the touch and packs great pigment. The shade in Sweet Vision remind me of Nars Orgasm but it is prettier in my opinion.
And lastly the most anticipated product from the line, the Nutcracker Sweet Copper Face Compact. MAC released two Face Compacts, one with peach tones and the other with copper tones which is the one I have. The Copper Face Compact contains an Extra Dimension Blush in Pleasure Model and Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Whisper of Gilt. Whisper of Gilt was a highlighter that MAC released with a LE collection and it became the most talked about highlighter in the beauty industry. So of course this face compact will be the most popular item from the collection and it will sell out in seconds.
Whisper of Gilt is a beautiful light medium gold with warm undertones. With this formula you can get a sheerer finish but if you’re a fan of a metallic pop you can apply the powder heavily and get the most intense highlight out there. Pleasure Model is also lovely and goes really well with the highlighter. It’s a coppery orange blush with warm undertones. This is one of those blushes that instantly warms up your complexion while looking very natural on the skin. It has a satin finish so it gives a little bit of sheen to your cheeks.
