I’ve been pretty good to my skin this past year, I tried new products, kept some of them in my regular skin care routine and I’m still looking for new better products to try.
The Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads have been in my skincare routine for years, whenever I run out and don’t use them for a couple of days I can instantly tell a difference in my skin, I start getting little breakouts here and there. These pads have some miracle ingredient in them cause I don’t get any breakouts when I use them every day.
Speaking of breakouts I’ve been loving the Lush Tea Tree Water and The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil. I use the Lush toner in the morning before I apply my serum, it feels very refreshing and adds a little moisture to the skin. The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil is great for spot treatments, whenever I get the occasional breakout I just dab a little bit on the spot and the oil works it’s magic.
My go to cleanser for 2014 was the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, I just love the cucumber smell and how refreshed my face feels after I wash it. It doesn’t strip the skin and it’s also good in removing makeup.
Another facial spray I’ve been loving is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, I keep one in my bag and use it whenever I need to refresh my makeup. The smell is amazing, smells like you’re in a luxury spa.
My go to mask for 2014 was the Glam Glow Youthmud. The hype is real on the Glam Glow masks, they’re pricy but they work so well. The Youthmud is great for cleansing the skin and tightening the pores so you’re left with clean glowy skin.
The serum that caught my eye in 2014 was the Tula Illuminating Face Serum. It gives a glow to the face, evens out the skin tone and blurs out the appearance of pores, it’s great for day and night time use.
For the lips my best discovery in 2014 was the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip treatment. This is hands down the best lip treatment I’ve tried for dry lips. I use it every night before I go to bed and when I wake up my lips feel soft and nourished.
Face oils were a big hit in 2014. I tried a lot of beauty oils but the Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil worked the best with my skin. At first I was afraid to use oil on my combo/oily skin but after using it for awhile at night I saw a huge difference in my skin texture, I didn’t have the usual dry flakes around my nose and my skin felt so soft in the morning.
What were your holy grail skincare items in 2014?
