As an addition to Urban Decay’s Moondust line they released a liquid version of their popular Moondust eyeshadows that are part of the Holiday 2016 Collection. The Urban Decay Liquid Moondust Cream Eyeshadows are described as a creamy liquid version of the Moondust eyeshadow formula.
The line has eight available shades and they’re all beautiful. If you’re not familiar with the Moondust eyeshadow formula, they’re very sparkly eyeshadows that contain microfine iridescent sparkle and 3D metallics and they give the most beautiful diamond sparkly effect to the eyes.
I love to use the Moondust eyeshadows to add some glamour to an eye look, either in the center of the eyelid or all over as an eyeshadow topper for that added sparkle effect. Well I’m happy to report that the Liquid Moondust Cream Eyeshadows provide the same effect.
The Urban Decay Liquid Moondust Cream Eyeshadows come in the following shades:
Chem Trail (oyster with iridescent sparkle)
Zap (gold with tonal sparkle)
Spacetime (deep coppery bronze with iridescent sparkle)
Recharged (peach with pink shift and sparkle)
Solstice (pink-red with green 3D sparkle & shift)
Magnetic (purple with iridescent sparkle)
Vega (bright blue with iridescent sparkle)
Zodiac (smoky black with blue-green shift & blue-green 3D sparkle)
The applicator is not your regular doe foot like with other cream eyeshadows, instead you get a brush that you can either use to paint on the eyeshadow all over the lid but also use it as an eyeliner. The brush applicator is perfect for precise application if you want to use the eyeshadow in the inner corner or even on the bottom lashes.
The texture of the liquid eyeshadows varies by shade, some have bigger sparkle particles that you can see on the swatches and some have a creamier and smoother texture.
For the ultimate color payoff I recommend swirling the brush in the tube before application because sometimes the oils that they have can separate in the tube. The pigmentation is consistent through the line and as soon as the liquid eyeshadow sets it will not budge. They also layer really well, you just have to wait for the first layer to dry before applying a second layer.
I like using these on their own for a quick eye look but also use them as an eyeshadow topper to intensify the powder eyeshadow and also add some sparkle. You can even use them over the pressed Moondust eyeshadows if you like a full on metallic look.

The Urban Decay Liquid Moondust Cream Eyeshadows are already available at Sephora and they’re priced at $22.
