When it comes to lipsticks I love all shades, well except of bright pinks since I think don’t look good on me. I love a good pop of color and if I had to pick between eyes and lips I would definitely go with lips. I can wear just a cream eyeshadow a do a simple look but on my lips I like to wear a pop of color.
But sometimes you have to tone down your makeup. If you work in an office or go for an interview and need to look presentable and not have any distracting colors on your face and clothes, in that case I like a neutral nude lipstick that’s either matte or satin finish.
The three shades that’ve been on constant rotation when it comes to nude lipsticks are Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Anais, Clinique Nude Pop and Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in Miss Kensington.
Anais is a nude with brown and beige undertones and Clinique Nude Pop and Miss Kensington are both nude pink lipsticks.
Anais and Nude Pop have a satin finish so they’re hydrating and glossy on the lips, but not as glossy as a lip gloss. I like to pair these with lip glosses when I go out but for work wear I prefer them on their own.
The Matte Revolution lipstick in Miss Kensington is limited edition and part of the Norman Parkinson collaboration so if it’s still available and you love a good nude pink I highly recommend you check it out. It’s matte finish but it’s not one of those matte lipsticks that dry out your lips. It’s very comfortable to wear and lasts a long time.
