The Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tars are liquid lipsticks that apply like a gloss and dry down to a satin or matte finish. They have a lot of colors and they’re actually meant to be mixed so they give you the option to customize your own lipstick color. Each Lip Tar is labeled as vegan and cruelty free.
The OCC Pro’s Picks Lip Tar Set contains five full size lip tars and the original price for the set was $49 but it’s currently on sale on sephora.com for $31, the sale is till September 1st. This set is quite the deal since a single lip tar is priced for $18, so the value of the set is $98.
The OCC Lip tars are amazing as they’re really pigmented, you only need a dot so these will last you forever. You get Clear, Femme, Electric Grandma,Radiate & Authentic and you also get a full size precision lip brush.
The Clear is a clear glossy lip tar. You can use this as a primer before you apply your colored lip tar or you can use it on top to add a glossy finish. I prefer this as a primer as when I apply it on top of another lip tar it get a little bit slick. Also you can use this if you want to refresh your lip color during the day.
Femme is a true baby pink with a matte finish. This shade is a little hard to work with as it tends to settle in my lip lines so I have to exfoliate and make sure my lips are hydrated before I apply otherwise it just looks bad. The good thing is you can always mix it with other colors and make it work for you.
Electric Grandma is a classic coral frost with a metallic finish. This is a very strong coral shade with orange undertones, it gives a golden shimmer sheen when applied and I think it’s the perfect summer color.
Radiate is an electric coral red with matter finish. It’s a cool red that’s almost neon like. This is not your every day color, I’m definitely going to reach for this when I feel like wearing a statement and bold lip.
Authentic is a full strength metallic copper. I didn’t think I will like this color but actually it doesn’t look bad when applied on the lips, when sheered out it changes to a orange copper color with a gold sheen. This is a great color if you like to add a metallic sheen to another lip tar color.
Every lip tar in the set is very pigmented. Like I said, you really need a dot to cover your lips and you get a really opaque application. I highly recommend this set as it’s a nice way to try out the lip tars and don’t break your bank, specially for the sale price.
