Since I don’t have time to go pamper myself at the spa I always try to use face masks once a week in order to clarify my skin. Specially if you have oily skin, that means your pores are prone to blackheads you should try and use a mask.
My favorite mask of the three is the Lush Mask of Magnaminty. This is not a daily mask, you should use this once a week as directed cause it’s a deep cleansing mask. On the Lush website they state that it’s suitable for most skin types except for those sensitive to peppermint. What I do is I put this mask in the fridge before I use it so when I apply I get this cooling feeling from the mint, it’s really refreshing. I avoid the eye area and just apply it where my most problematic skin is, usually the t-zone. It leaves my skin really clean and refreshed after use, I highly recommend it. Not sure how it will work for sensitive skin though as it is pretty strong. The Mask of Magnaminty is available at lushusa.com for $12.95, this is for the smaller size.
Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores it’s a mask with activated charcoal and it’s meant to deep clean pores. This mask is a gentler version of the Lush mask. It doesn’t have the peppermint cooling effect so people who don’t like peppermint can try this is a good alternative. I like this mask but I don’t love it. To be honest I’ve used it only three times so maybe after I use the whole tube I’ll make my decision. The Origins mask is available at sephora.com for $25 and you have the smaller size for $17.
The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask is also a cleansing mask. It’s meant to detoxify and cleanse your skin weekly and it also controls the excess oil. This mask is for oily to combination skin. Be warned, this mask has a strong smell, so if you’re sensitive to smell stay away. The Body Shop website claims that there is 100% natural clay complex in this so at least you’re putting more natural product on your face. I apply all three masks the same way, just a thin layer, wait for around 10 min for the mask to dry and then wash with warm water. My face is left soft, clean and refreshed. If you’re not sure what mask will be good for you, you can always ask for a sample or buy the smaller size.
