Mac released a LE collection inspired by the Chinese New Year. From decadent reds and lavish lids with satin- soft shades, Mac was inspired by the snow blossoms. The collection features three lip shades, an eye palette, two powder blushes, eyebrow products and Prep+Prime Natural Radiance.
I received two lipsticks (Peach Blossom and Dangerous) and the Prep+Prime Natural Radiance to test out.
The collection comes in beautifully designed packaging. With red and black, the design’s blossoms are velvet with Mac’s logo engraved in gold. I wish Mac applied the design to the actual product packaging because the design is breathtaking. I’m not someone who keeps the packaging but I might need to with this collection since I love it so much.
All three lipsticks from the collection are also part of the permanent line. You get classic shades like Russian Red and Peach Blossom and the newer addition Dangerous which reminds me a lot of Lady Danger.
Peach Blossom is described as a frosted cool nude in a cremesheen finish. It’s more of a peachy pink nude shade with a sheer glossy finish. I love wearing shades like this in spring/summer so this will be a great addition to my lipstick collection. The lipstick has light to medium coverage and a glossy finish so it’s very comfortable to wear.
Dangerous is an orange red in a matte finish. The shade is very close to my all time favorite lipstick from Mac, Lady Danger. I think it leans more orange than red but it’s still beautiful on my skin tone. Since it comes in a matte finish it is more long lasting, stays put and doesn’t bleed.

The Mac Chinese New Year Collection is already available on maccosmetics.com and in stores. It’s a great collection and worth checking out. It would be an even better collection if the print was on the packaging so maybe next year Mac will consider doing that. All three products that I tested out receive a big thumbs up from me.
