L’oreal released their first foundation in a cushion form which I think it’s a first cushion foundation that comes from the drugstore. Cushion foundations are very popular in Asia and are famous for their easy use and for giving a natural dewy look.
The L’oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation provides a fresh, luminous look that looks very natural and skin like. It comes with a puff applicator in a beautiful rose gold packaging. The cushion also has a mirror inside which makes it very convenient for touchups.
The recommended application is to use tapping motions with the puff and push the foundation in to your skin. You can also layer the foundation if you want more coverage. The coverage in my opinion is light to medium and has a beautiful luminous finish without looking greasy or oily.
The foundation doesn’t have any SPF which is pretty different from other cushion foundations, they all pretty much come with some SPF but that makes it a good foundation for photography. The line offers 12 different shades which is a good variety of shades for a cushion foundation. Usually with cushion foundations you get a light, medium and dark shade.
The shades come with numbers but also with letters that mean, N for neutral, W for warm and C for cool toned. I used to wear the shade in w4 in the True Match Lumi Foundation but that is my summer shade so I picked up one shade down in W3 and it is the perfect match for my light to medium skin tone with yellow undertones.
I find the foundation very natural and super light on the skin. The finish is luminous but doesn’t feel greasy or tacky. I do powder my t-zone but otherwise I can say that the foundation doesn’t make me oily through the day. If you’re oily though I would suggest using a setting powder all over because the foundation is pretty luminous and hydrating. I would suggest this foundation to people with dry to normal and combo skin, if you’re oily I think you can still wear it but with a setting powder.
I would suggest washing the puff at least once a week like you do with any other sponge just to make sure you don’t get any bacteria in the product. I also use a brush for application when I’m in a hurry and that works out great.

If you’re looking for a hydrating and a natural looking foundation that has a luminous finish and it’s easy to just pop in to your bag for touchups I definitely recommend you try the L’oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation. It is pricier than your regular drugstore foundation but it’s of good quality and the finish is comparable to high end foundations.
