I have to say that Birchbox is to blame for my recent Korean beauty obsession. I tried my first Korean makeup and skincare couple of months ago and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Birchbox recently released a limited edition box that includes some of the most wanted Korean beauty brands. The box is called From Korea With Love* and includes six makeup and skincare products from brands that are highly popular. The box was priced for $35 and a $79 value. Unfortunately the box was so popular that it sold out in a day but the good news is that you can get all of the products that were included in the box on birchbox.com.
The box itself is as cute as it can get. The combination of hand drawings and pandas is perfection. In the box we got:
Clio Waterproof Pen Liner Kill Black – It has a felt tip applicator and the blackest black that you can get from an eyeliner. I’m no pro when it comes to eyeliner application but the felt tip makes it super easy to do a straight and precise line. The eyeliner dries matte and doesn’t budge all day.
IPKN Twinkle Lips – A very interesting product for me. This lip stain goes on sheer and then reacts with the natural chemistry of your lips and turns either pink or coral. It’s super hydrating and makes your lips look super healthy and juicy.
TonyMoly Magic Food Banana Hand Milk – It’s a nourishing hand milk that contains real banana and chamomile flower extracts to moisturize and add radiance to your hands. It’s perfect if you need extra nourishment and if you have extremely dry hands. Coming winter I can see using this a lot.
TonyMoly Panda’s Dream Brightening Eye Base – It’s infused with pearl extracts and chrysin that help with brightening dark circles. It has a balmy texture that feels hydrating but not greasy and blends on to the skin nicely. Can be worn on it’s own or under concealer, it just depends how much coverage you need. And don’t forget the packaging, can’t go wrong with some panda packaging :).
Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Escalator Mascara – I think I’ve found my perfect mascara! This mascara not only helps with length but it also plumps and curls your eyelashes. As a result you get super long lashes that hold a curl and no smudging at all. Plus the wand is adjustable, how cool is that?
Too Cool For School Egg Cream Mask – This foaming mask is formulated with egg yolk which helps with moisture and the egg whites also tighten pores, control oil and help with blemishes. It’s a nourishing mask and a great one to try if you’re looking to add some moisture to your skin.
Other Korean beauty products that I’ve been using a lot are the Chosungah 22 Dong Cong Minn Brow Maker*, Chosungah 22 Flavorful UV Balm in Pop Pink* and Peripera Ah Much My Cushion Blusher in Pleased Pink*.
The Chosungah 22 Dong Cong Minn Brow Maker is a waterproof brow gel that also doubles as a brow shaper. The unique applicator includes a sponge tip that you can use to fill in your brows and a brush for setting your brows. I have the shade in Blond and it’s a perfect ashy blonde for my brows. If you don’t need lot of filling in and you like a more natural brow you will love this product.
The Chosungah 22 UV Balm in Pop Pink is a sheer balm that has SPF13 and helps with hydration. The balm contains sunflower seed oil & jojoba seed oil that help with locking moisture in to your lips. It feels very hydrating on the lips and I love that it adds a touch of color to the lips. It might look scary in the tube but the color appears very sheer on your lips.
Peripera Ah Much Real My Cushion Blusher in Pleased Pink is a liquid blush and has a cushion applicator that’s very easy to use, you just squeeze the tube and apply directly. The shade that I have is very light so it will suit lighter skin tones. On my medium skin it looks very natural with barely showing up. It gives me a natural flush to the cheeks that’s great to wear on those no makeup makeup days.
After trying all these products I can see why people are loving Korean beauty. Not only they make the cutest packaging but the quality of the products is amazing.
