Jouer just launched their Long Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks and they’re all a thing of beauty. The line has sixteen shades which range from pretty every day nudes to some beautiful red shades. They also have some metallic shades in the line which I haven’t seen with other brands.
The liquid lipsticks are described as weightless long wearing liquid lipsticks that have a full coverage and a soft finish that lasts all day. The formula of the liquid lipsticks feels whipped so it’s not super watery which makes it for a very easy application. The packaging is the same as their lip glosses and the shorter doe foot applicator is very easy to use and helps a lot with precise application.
They don’t dry super fast so you have time to go back and fix mistakes and perfect your application. As soon as the lipstick dries you don’t feel it on your lips. When you touch your lips there is no stickiness and they also don’t transfer so they’re kiss proof. The wear is just amazing, they lasted around eight hours of wear on my lips without any weird cracking or fading. And the good thing is that if you eat something oily they fade really nicely and you can use your fingers just to spread the product and it will still look nice.
The smell is sweet, reminds me of a vanilla cake but it’s still not overpowering and you don’t smell it after application. The names of the liquid lipsticks were all inspired by the famous French macaron cookies, so you get cute names like Praline, Citronade Rose and Noisette.
The sixteen shades in the line are:
Melon (matte warm pink nude), Creme Brûlée (matte warm nude), Peche (matte warm coral peach), Pamplemousse (metallic warm gold), Citronnade Rose (metallic ballet pink), Dulce De Leche (matte cool nude), Lychee (matte cool dusty rose), Papaye (metallic warm peach), Noisette (matte warm chocolate brown), Petale de Rose (matte cool deep rose), Praline (metallic cool bronzed pink), Framboise (matte warm deep pink), Fruit de la Passion (matte cool bright pink), Cassis (matte cool muted violet), Cerise (matte warm fuchsia red), Fraise Bonbon (matte cool berry red).
I’m not sure how Jouer did it but they managed to create liquid lipsticks that are comfortable to wear and not drying at all. These are hands down the most comfortable liquid lipstick I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot. The best thing is they’re comfortable but still as long wearing as per example the KVD Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks.
Swatches L to R: Melon, Creme Brûlée, Peche, Pamplemousse, Citronnade Rose, Dulce De Leche, Lychee, Papaye, Noisette, Petale de Rose, Praline, Framboise, Fruit de la Passion, Cassis, Cerise, Fraise Bonbon
It would be so hard to pick favorites since the line has so many pretty neutral and wearable shades but if I have to pick, my top three those would be Melon, Petale de Rose and Fraise Bonbon.
The Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipsticks line is one of the few liquid lipstick lines that has shades that are very wearable and I would actually wear every shade in the line. I was pleasantly surprised by the metallic shades, I though I would not like them since I don’t really use metallic lipsticks but they ended up being beautiful on the lips. If you’re afraid of wearing a metallic lipstick you can always use them as a highlighter in the middle of your lips on top of a matte lipstick to add some dimension to your lips and make them look bigger.
All sixteen shades are available as of today on jouercosmetics.com. I highly recommend picking up at least one shade, even if you’re not a liquid lipstick lover and can’t wear matte lipsticks you will love these since they’re so comfortable to wear.
*Many thanks to Jouer for sending me a preview of all sixteen shades. As always all opinion is my own.
