Hourglass came out with seven eyeshadow palettes, each containing five shades that compliment each other. As you can see the Modernist palettes are very unique in appearance, I would say that they look like pieces of art.
Hourglass claims that the eyeshadows are long lasting and crease resistant. The three dimensional design is created by multi pressing the eyeshadows so the pigmentation is great, something like a pressed pigment.
I picked the Exposure palette cause I don’t own a lot of plum shades, most of my palettes are pretty neutral with a lot of browns and nudes so I figured why not venture a little.
The texture of the eyeshadows is very creamy and smooth, actually they’re so creamy that you get a little fallout when applying. I really like the color selection in this palette and I see myself wearing every shade. The first two eyeshadows have a satin finish, the rose gold and the darker plum are shimmery and the lavender at the end is also a satin finish.
This is a luxury palette so it is on the pricier side. I wouldn’t necessary say that you absolutely need this palette but if you are a makeup lover as me I think that you probably ordered one 🙂
I actually expected this palette to be a little bigger, something like the blush palette or the ambient lighting palette. On the above photo you can see the size difference between the two palettes.
My thoughts on the The Hourglass Modernist palette in Exposure are positive, I know there are a lot of mixed reviews for the other palettes but I didn’t have any of the problems that other people experienced. Yes you get some fallout but that’s cause of the creaminess of the eyeshadows.
What are your thoughts on the Hourglass Modernist Palettes? Did you pick up a palette?
