It was really hard for me to narrow down the products for this post and not be here and talk about my favorite makeup all day. I think 2015 was the year that I started to experiment more with makeup and try a lot of different products.
There were a lot of good launches in the past year and products that are here to stay and be popular in this year too and when I think about it I didn’t try a lot of bad makeup products in 2015. Maybe I was selective with the products and did my research or maybe companies continue to improve their quality.
Here are some of the makeup products that I used and loved a lot in 2015:
Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer – I’m sure this was not a surprise to all, I used this primer almost every day since it launched and it’s still going strong.
Make Up For Ever Nourishing & Smoothing primers – The whole line of Step 1 Skin Equalizers is awesome! You just need to pick the primer that will work for your skin and you will see results. The Nourishing primer helped me with hydration and moisture and the Smoothing primer blurs out pores and imperfections. Both do a great job.
Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Foundation – I love this foundation because I can use it every day. I prefer light to medium coverage for every day and a foundation that’s hydrating but doesn’t feel greasy and Fresh Glow is just that.
L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation – If you’re looking for a good affordable foundation from the drugstore you have to check it out. This foundation has medium to full coverage but what I do is I use a damp sponge just to make it more natural and it stays put all day.
Urban Decay Naked Concealer – Hands down my go to under eye concealer for almost the whole year. It’s creamy, covers well and doesn’t crease, everything that I want in a concealer.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit – A palette that has six shades of my favorite powders? Sign me in! It’s great for travel and I actually use all six shades so this palette was a great investment.
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow in Light/Medium – My all time favorite product that I will repurchase over and over again. It has my perfect contour/bronze shade and the highlighter is just gorgeous. Definitely a must have!
Laura Geller Gilded Honey – If you’re looking for an intense golden highlight this is the highlighter for you. The formula is creamy and applies like a dream and it almost gives your cheeks a wet look.
Nars Craving Blush – The Dual Intensity blushes were a big hit for me in 2105. They give a nice glow to the cheeks and you get two shades that you can mix or use separately.
H&M Rosy Brown Powder Blush – A great affordable blush! The whole H&M beauty launch was a big surprise. Everything that I’ve tried from the line so far, from blushes, cream blushes, cream eyeshadows, single eyeshadows and many more, everything is high quality and the prices are almost drugstore. I highly recommend the brand if you haven’t tried it.
Jouer Tiare – A lightweight cream highlighter that gives the most beautiful glow to the cheeks. I like using creams for daytime because they look more natural but I also like to combine cream with powder for a more intense look.
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette – I think this was the biggest eyeshadow palette launch in 2015 because everyone loves the Naked palettes. I think they did a great job with the Smoky palette and it’s actually one of my favorite from the Naked line.
Charlotte Tilbury Mona Lisa – The whole Eyes to Mesmerise line is amazing! Mona Lisa is a beautiful chocolate bronze eyeshadow that’s perfect for creating a brown smoky eye but I also love Bette and Marie Antoinette for creating daytime looks. These cream eyeshadows are one of the best ones I tried in 2015.
Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Stick Eyeshadow in Au Revoir – A cooling cream eyeshadow in a stick form that doesn’t budge and has an almost wet metallic look, yes that’s my perfect night time eyeshadow. These are great for creating quick makeup looks and there are some great shades in the line.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow – My perfect nude in a liquid lipstick form. These lipsticks are a little drying but they will last you over a drink, meal and then some.
Clinique Nude Pop – I think the Pop lipstick line from Clinique was the cutest launch in 2015. They released some amazing shades and they nailed the formula of the lipsticks, they’re pigmented and super comfortable to wear.
Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria – Her Matte Revolution lipstick line is one of the most comfortable matte formula I’ve tried. I almost have every shade from the line but Very Victoria was my most used just because it’s a great nude.
Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Gel Lipstick in Role Play – Another nude favorite I know. Role Play is my perfect my lips but better nude and the shade has great pigmentation and lasting power. If you’re looking for a great nude lipstick the New Nudes line has a beautiful nude for every skin tone and most of them are not sheer but have a pretty good pigmentation.
Whew that was a long one! I still have to do my skincare post but that will probably be easier to do than the makeup so will be up pretty soon.
